Just found out that ex-Son-in-Law was picked up by the sheriff's deputies this morning. He will stay in jail until he (or somebody) comes up with the entire amount of back child support he owes her..nearly $7,000.
She really needs it, as it's a struggle for her to support their son.

Thanks! We're relieved that he was finally picked up. He needs to face the consequences of his actions (or lack of them!).
His mom called our daughter today and asked her if she would take $5,000 and let him pay her an extra $50 week toward the rest. D said, "Nope." His mom then said, "Well, that means that poor Paul will have to stay in jail." D told her, "Look. It's not my fault, the baby's fault, or your fault that he didn't pay the child support. He brought this on himself. All he was ordered to pay was a lousy $216/mo and he wouldn't even pay that. Over a year ago, he legally agreed to pay an additional $50/week toward the back child support he owed then, but he quit after a month. If I take the $5,000, I'll never see the rest of it; so, either I get the whole amount or he sits in jail. It's as simple as that."
His mom told her, "Well, we'll see what we can do," and hung up. D was surprised that his mom didn't get nasty, but then his mom has already had a few run-ins with us on the phone. Guess she didn't want to go there again! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Another positive note: Grandson #1 was actually good today and tonight! I went to their school open house with them, and had absolutely no problems with either of the boys. So, maybe he's starting to understand that I do NOT hate his mother.

Thank you for your response to my post...
It is so good to here that you are standing so strong...
...it is important for everyone to "face the consequences of (their) actions"!
Your ability to forgive(children or granchildren)... yet keep your convictions makes you a very special person.
Good for you! Jim,
I have to say that I'm so proud of my D that I could burst!
Just a few short years ago, I was dealing with an extremely rebellious teenager who put us through absolute hell. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Today, my daughter is a wonderful young woman who works very hard in our business, confides in me, and is a terrific mother to her son. I thought I would never see her do the things she does! I'm very proud of her!
