How I made it through the last year...
A little motivational, but I was taken to my inner roots of self, failed and have now survived...bootcamp was only the beginning of my own hell, the light is in my tunnel now.
Thank each and everyone of you for being there for me and MY family. I had only me and when stripped of all my self, I was left there alone, with nothing, but together with all of you, we made it together, and because of that my adversary of self is now whole, a survivor of fault and failure. It took the world for me to loose, to now TRULY love again. I AM NOT WALKING ALONE ANYMORE.
SEMPER FIDELIS
Dedicated each for you.

Get OFF my bus!
One must First be stripped clean.
Freed of all the notions of self.
It is the Marine Corps that will strip away the facade so easily confused with self. It is the Corps that will offer the pain needed to buy the truth. And at last Each will own the privilege of looking inside himself to discover what truly resides there.
Unhappiness does not arise from the way things are, but rather from a difference in the way things are and the way we believe they should be.
Comfort is an illusion. A false security bred from familiar things and familiar ways. It narrows the mind, weakens the body and robs the soul of spirit and determination. Comfort is neither welcome or tolerated here.
You within yourself has no one else to rely on.
And when the self is exhausted. No one to lift you up.
There you have seen in yourself invincibility. You now confront vulnerability. You have faltered and the root of your weakness lies painfully exposed with the weight of failure heavy on you. You realize you have been overcome because you walk alone.
But finally we wake to realize there is only ONE ... way to get through this, and that is together.
There is only one determination. There is only one single minded desire. Not one among them is willing to give up. Not one among them would exchange torment for freedom. Finally they just want to be Marines.
Once you've walked through FIRE and survived, little else can burn.
But first, a final test will take everything that is left inside. When this is over, those that stand will reach out with dirty, callused hands to claim the Eagle Globe and Anchor and the title United States Marine.
From http://www.marines.com
------------------
"S t o n e h e n g e"

quote:
"In the valley of the blind the one eyed man is king"
