I'm in my office right now, and I'm on the verge of a nervous breakdown..... everything is in a tailspin..... I don't even know where to start....
My Grandmother was taken to the ER Saturday night.... they are checking for stomach & colon cancer. She was suposed to go in for further tests because they discovered last week that her heart is only working at 44%.
My Grandfather is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday.... the artery in his neck is 95% blockded, and he has been having mini strokes for a while now...
They are in different hospitals almost 1000 miles away.....
Some of you may have heard about the wild fires in New Mexico.... well, I've been packing up vital information from my office, while my Dad is at home packing up there.... they evacuated part of the town last night and are advising everyone to prepare for further evacuations.... I'm scared, you can see the hase of smoke in the building, and see the flames not very far from town. The wind has started to pick up again....
Please pray that I don't lose my mind today... I'm worried, scared, and preparing to help my dad evacuate the home I grew up in because of the threats of fire. (Mom is 3 states away w/ grandparents).
Thanks everyone.... I'll update when I can.
Butterfly
------------------
There are deep sorrows and killing cares in life, but the encouragement and love of friends were given us to make all difficulties bearable.
-- John Oliver Holmes
The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.
-- Elie Wiesel

Butterfly, the first summer we lived in our house, there was a forest fire and at night we could see the flames on the ridge. The ash and smoke was everywhere. I had everything I loved in the trunk of my car--except my kids & H of course!
The rain and slurry bombers ended it after 5 days. I pray yours is extinguished the same way, only quicker.
God Bless
------------------
Lor
"Let love be genuine...hold fast to what is good; love one another." Rom 12:9-10

Ok, I'm checking in w/ an update. They still (as of 11:00 pm) haven't evacuated the rest of the town.
I live about 20 miles away, and I can see the flames on the mountain from here, and the smoke and ash are drifting down into the valley. Dad promised to come and stay with me if they evacuate tonight, but he won't leave unless they evacuate.
The winds have died down some for now, and the slurry bombers were dumping on the evacuated homes this afternoon. The wind is suposed to pick back up again tomorrow morning, to about 45 mph.
I haven't heard anything from mom, so there is no update there.... I'm holding on the the "no news is good news" thoughts here.
You guys are the greatest.... I can feel your prayers, and I am feeling better tonight... it's still scary.
There was a fire in the same area about 22 years ago. We lived in one of the areas they evacuated yesterday. It was one of the worst fires in the state, but they didn't evacuate then. I remember mom packing suitcases incase we had to leave.
I'll update again tomorrow, or as soon as I hear something.
Love, Thougts & Prayers,
Dawnetta
------------------
There are deep sorrows and killing cares in life, but the encouragement and love of friends were given us to make all difficulties bearable.
-- John Oliver Holmes
The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.
-- Elie Wiesel
