I have AOL. I wrote a long letter to H telling him of my feelings( well OK some of my feelings were plagerized from Dazed and Sheba.) How do I write it out somewhere else and then transfer it to here? I type so slow that I always get booted off when I try to type long here.
lora

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question, but do you have a word processing program? (MS Word 98, etc)... if not you could even type it up in Notepad (you don't have to be connected to do that), then copy and paste it wherever you want after you've connected up on AOL.

Monen is right...
Use MS Word, Notepad, WordPad or any other "editor"...
There will either be an "edit"(on menu bar) option to "Select All" the text...
...or with a right mouse button click in the text area a popup menu with "Select All"
After you "Select All"...
using the same "edit" or right mouse button click...
...do a "Copy"
After you "Copy"...
...move/switch back to your AOL browser or e-mail window (where the text is to be typed)...
...and again with the "edit" or right mouse button click... do a "Paste".
![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
Jim

You can also compose a letter in AOL without being connected, then dial up and connect to send it. Maybe that would be the simplest solution!

Gosh, it's been so long since I used AOL.... I think though, when you first open up the program, you get the little login screen? Well, if you just ignore the login screen, you should still see some mail options at the top of the window, at least one, which is to compose a message offline. Then you can go ahead and login as usual and send the message you composed.
It's not much harder to do it in a different editor, just be aware that MS Word sticks some funky formatting stuff in there that AOL might not know how to handle so you end up with strange text characters in your e-mail. You can avoid this by using a straight text editor like Notepad.
OK, Thaks, I will try one of those options, but I may do a test first. Nothing so disappointing to me than to spend hours on my hunt and peck typing then have it erased. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/frown.gif)

Lora, I have lost many posts too when I had finally been able to get down just what I wanted to say. It seems when I try to retype, I don't get it all out the 2d time.
Because my "submit reply" efforts sometimes don't go through and get lost, I always use the Edit button to Select All and then Copy before I send. If it gets lost, all I have to do is go back to the screen and use Paste to put it back. It has been saved on Notepad.
This is a slightly different problem than what you had, but it is an extra precaution I have learned the hard way.

if you typed it up already, just highlight what you want, then hit "CTRL" and "c" at the same time, open MB, then hit "CTRL" and "v". that's "copy" and "paste" as easy as it gets.
hope that helps!
