Well, thanks to all of your encouragement I went on the big date with H on Thursday and it was just great!
I will not say that we are anywhere near recovery, but if this Love Bank thing is for real, I have made significant deposits. We went to a place neither one of us had been before (my condition) which was a lovely, restaurant. Drank wine, talked joked, ate a wonderful meal. Just wanted to drive afterwards, both of us, and ended up getting a bottle of wine, a corkscrew and some goofy plastic glasses and going back to his new apartment. He's only lived there a week, so I'd never seen it.
It wasn't really depressing to go there, it was kinda fun...like dating again. It is barren as can be, only a bed there, but well...(gulp) we did spend a few hours there. The kids kept calling so we came home and he spent the night here with me.
We talked about moving into a new house, as this one holds too many sad memories for both of us. We bought it when he was involved with OW, way before I knew about the affair. It hurts me to live here, as it was bought under such false pretensees.
It's a long long way from a committment, but heck, it was a great night and gave me hope. Today he took the kids for his first "dads weekend". It was hard to pack up my kids and send them with him, especially hard on them, the poor kids. But, it was short and sweet, as I knew he felt awkward about it too.
Ok, I'm ranting. Thanks for your support my friends. I'm still so scared to hope, I'm scared of my heart breaking worse than it is, but I guess we here at MB have to put our heart on the line to make progress.
WooHoo ! You go girl !
I understand you are scared. Heck I'm still scared and it has been 2 years since d-day of the last affair for me.
But you know, I would be just as scared, and in just as much danger of being hurt again if I had left and started a new relationship with someone else .
Just take your time and keep making those deposits.
------------------
Just call me - Deb
------------------------
The only day I can do anything about is today, yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not yet mine.
Hepatitis C, educate yourself ! http://hepatitis-central.com/

Hi there,
This sounds just like the "separation" my H and I had. It's hard for me to call it that sometimes,as he was home more than he was at "his" place. This type of "separation" lasted only 2 months for us.It was also good for my H. It made him appreciate all he had at home. Good luck to you, enjoy the dates and hopefully he'll discover it's much more fun being home with you!!!

Thank you all so much for replying, and for all of your encouragement.
Bozos_Deb...good point about the dangers of getting hurt in a new relationship. I will keep that in mind...never thought about it that way before.
