Gina (and others interested in swing lessons),
OK. This is the basic intro stuff. I know two styles and usually mis them up on the dacne floor depending who the leader is but I learned 6-count East Coast swing first, so that's what I'll teach. We'll start with just the foot work and basic rhythm.
The 6-counts go
one, two, three-and-four, five-and-six.
The leader starts out taking a step back and rocking on it, then shifting the weight back to the right foot (which didn't really move). (The follower does the same thing but with the opposite foot).
This happens on the one, two, and it's calle the rock-step.
Then for the three-and-four, there is a triple-step, starting with the left foot for the leader and the right foot for the follower. You take three steps more-or less in place.
Leader - left,right,left.
Follower - right,left,right.
The fiv-and six is the same thing but with the opposite feet.
Leader - right,left,right
Follower - left,right,left
Then it starts all over again.
Go ahead and practice that wnd when you have it down I'll talk about framing, connection, and how the leader and follower hold each other.
(NO AERIALS -THEY'RE DANGEROUS IN A CROWDED PLACE LIKE THIS!)
Hi all-
Anyone remember me? I know I am late. I came to clean up the mess ;-) Seems to be my call in life.
This way I can sneek out all the goodies that are left and/or forgotten. Such as all the half empty bottles ;-) Maybe some of those old 8 tracks (the player too since I got rid of mine 20 years ago). Oh-and that bong. Whew-I can be high just sitting it in my living room and sniffing :0
I will hitch a ride with anyone heading back to Washington State-that first flight was pretty rocky. I will toss the stale potato chips out the window all the way back and the next party can be here!!
But-first and foremost (don't be booing me anyone, specially you Mitzi) we must tolerate some good ole country music.
Thanks for making it a fun weekend Deb!
------------------
*heartache*
"Loyalty Is A Two Way Street"

[This message has been edited by heartache (edited June 04, 2000).]

DEB, thanks for starting the first official Cyber Summber Bash!
Hey, I don't want to be on the cleanup committee, but I finally made it!
After the weekend I just had, I could use a stiff drink and a burger! My goddaughter had a bike accident and broke her foot, and she is suposed to have surgery on her other leg next week.... I spent most of the weekend assuring my best friend everything would be fine, and that I would fly out there to help her if she needs me.
Heartache & Mitzi, if you are planning a party in WA, let me know... it's not too far from my friend's, and we could probably escape for a while! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif)
I'm still waiting for everyone to come to NM for a hottub/bbq/wild weekend get-together.
Anyhoo.... pass me a bottle of cactus kicker or a margarita and some pickles to go with this burger!
Love, Thoughts & Prayers,
B
------------------
There are deep sorrows and killing cares in life, but the encouragement and love of friends were given us to make all difficulties bearable.
-- John Oliver Holmes
The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.
-- Elie Wiesel

[MENTAL - That's my diet too. Choked up throat, stomach in knots, food tasted like ****.
But Deb, here's my RSVP: I'll come to the party and I'm bringing a huge, crisp green salad, topped with sunflower seeds and raisins. And raspberry sherbet.
And old Beatles music!

WooHoo, yes, it's Monday, and we're all a bit drug out from partying this week-end, but
we can party on. Let's make a New Years punch. We take all the half empty bottles and pour the contents into a punch bowl, add some OJ ( it beats Mr. Pibb which my sisters and I used when we first made this when I was 15), (I was a naughty kid,), and there you have a drink that will either cure or kill you.
So turn up the music and let's just sit here and drink til our lips are numb.
------------------
Just call me - Deb
------------------------
The only day I can do anything about is today, yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not yet mine.
Hepatitis C, educate yourself ! http://hepatitis-central.com/
