My H and I have been going through alot of stuff in the last couple years, we were back on a road to being close again. Lately he has fallen back into his old ways and one thing that is bothering me is his drinking
Lately he is starting too drink more and I don't like the person he is when he has had too many.He will go out with the guys golfing and get pissed, or he will even drink all by himself and get drunk and go fix things around the house, I can't stand it. He is not at the point where he is an alchoholic but it is starting to bother me. I don't know how to approach this without him getting angry at me, and without it being a LB. Its just that everytime he has a few too many with his friends or whatever, he has this attitude that I am trying to control him and gets upset with me and I am in no way interested in controlling him. He only thinks of himself when he drinks and is so cranky the next day which is totally unfair to us as a family. Any suggestions on how to approach this without Love Busting?

Hi fed up...
Hugs to you. Can't really give you any advice. Just wanted to let you know that I know what you're going through. My H is a recovering alcoholic. He was the same way when he drank. I couldn't say or do anything that wasn't an LB. It's only now he sees what it was doing to the family.
I hope it doesn't get to the point where he is an alcoholic. Just keep your eye on that situation. A very close eye. Don't let it get out of hand.
On the other hand, to you, it must seem like it's already out of hand? How much is he drinking? Days per week, beers per binge, that kind of thing.
Alcoholic or not, when someone is drinking, and even when they are sober, they don't want to hear that they have a problem. I'm not sure what the best way is to go about discussing it with him. Unless you go about it with starting out like "I feel..." That kind of thing.
If it's starting to affect the kids, then I'd seriously consider having a conversation with him. A serious one. Let him know you're not trying to control him, but that you want to bring this to his attention.
I wish you the best of luck, fed up. Let us know what becomes of it!
--purplemag
