I'm 39 years old. I'm having the most realistic dreams that my spouse is having an affair with someone. I have a friend who says she is doing the same thing, and she believes it is hormones. It is driving me crazy and I'm concerned that my actions/reactions will drive my spouse away. I do odd things like checking pockets, etc. We've had discussions about it, and he tells me there is no one else, but I don't believe him. I don't understand why I don't believe him. There is no reason for him to stray. He is never turned down for intimacy. And, in actuality, I'm usually after him. There is no indication otherwise that he has someone else or wants to leave. Property is in both names, etc. But, these dreams persist. We've been married 18 years. This has only started in the past 2 months. Has anyone else had this experience?

Hi Nikkki,
I just read your post and I wanted to say hello and welcome to MB.
I think it's important to listen to our inner voices...yours is telling you something. Has your husband shown any signs of having an affair? Is he accountable for his time? Is he dressing or looking different? Does he seem satisfied with the marriage?
I don't in any way want to alarm you, but I also had dreams for a long time that my husband was unfaithful to me, and unfortunatly I found out that he was. It does not necessarily mean the same thing for you, but if you find out he has been you are in the right place.
Just in case, read all you can here. You will learn a lot, and if this is all your imagination (or hormones) which I really hope it is, you will have learned how to make your marriage even better than it is now.
Good luck, and let us know what is happening.
allison

I also had dreams of infidelity. Very graphic, colorful, and intense dreams- so intense I could almost smell them. It was founded in my case as well.
I can't say that everybody doesn't have dreams like this and some are our inner voices and some are not. I can only say that they were real in my case when I had NO inclination to believe that my H was with anyone else. He was home every night, seemed very happy, always told me he loved me, and seemed completely devoted. There was no missing money, no strange phone calls to the house, and no unaccounted for time. Very slick character.
