I was just reading a thread in the Read-Only posts about Country Music being a possible tip off of your spouse having an affair. I just wanted to point out the possibility of using music(Country or otherwise) as a tool to express your love to your spouse.<P>My wife(username Bink) and I have been married for 26 years. Alot(most of the first 25 years) of our marriage we had a somewhat distant relationship(not too good, not too bad). In January 1999 I sat down with her and said that "I'm not getting any younger and we should either make this relationship wonderful or move on". We started into marriage counseling at that point.<P>My wife has always had a huge interest in music, mostly progressive rock. I pretty much had a take or leave it attitude about music(at least that music), which was always a big disappointment to her. In March 1999 I was scaning channels on the radio on my way to work and hit a station that was playing "Wish You Were Here" by Mark Wills. I listened to the song and cried hard the rest of the way to work. On the way home I stopped and bought the album. I took it home and played it for my wife. This began a search by me for the most romantic songs in Country music. I've since aquired over 50 country CD's and you could definitely say that I've used those romantic songs to have an affair with my wife.<P>While she never really liked Country music before she says that having those love songs sung directly to her by me while playing the song really touched her heart. John Michael Montgomery sings "I swear" and that is a major rush, along with Faith Hill's "Breathe". My husband gave me a tape of meaningful music that applied to our situation when I moved out to have my "space" during my EA, although it was rock. I cried and cried. It was so meaningful. It brings tears to my eyes, just typing this. Quite a few months ago I asked him to make another, since he likes to communicate feelings that way and we have been in recovery. He hasn't finished, yet. I hope he finishes soon. <BR>

Oh, I'm not a huge country music fan but I do like a lot and I LOVE Clint Black's "Love is what you do" (or something like that!) In fact, though I don't have absolute confirmation, I do believe that THAT'S the song that prompted Robert to first think about coming home.<P>Lori
