If I might ask, how are your kids doing through all of your pain and if that pain has included divorce, separation, or your working through things?

Awful.

My d-day was in January. My husband kicked me out. MY KIDS WERE DEVESTATED.
They have never been the same. I saw 5 young babies loose their smiles, their trust, I saw young children lose all stability in their lives.
I am back in the home. I never truley left. On the way to my mothers my kids cried and cried and cried. I went back home with my family but moved onto the couch and eventually in with my kids.
It has been 6 months now and they are so rebellious and insecure. We are in recoverya nd have been since April 1 but the kids still feel the effects of my wrong doings. Now, they have no clue as to why I was going to leave. They just knew that we got in a big fight and I was out.
Now if an arguement starts my kids panic and freak out for days. It is awful. The bad part is we are trying so hard to work thing out between us, the kids have taken a back seat and that isn't good for them either.
I hope with time all with adjst.
mercy

My wife left 17 Feb of last year. I have 14 & 9 year old girls. They are doing fine. She hasn't seen them since May of 99.
You need to be the stability in their lives. Don't badmouth mom at all!
No divorce yet, but it looks inevitable at this point (my doing it). They know what is going on. I keep them informed of what I am doing.
------------------
Prayers & God Bless!
Chris
For relationship info check out Marriage & Relationship Resources

Daugthers 12 & 15, first separation 2 years ago, H now home. The 12 year old is a "pleaser" always just wanted dad home. The 15 year old rather washed her hands of him, was polite ranging to snotty to him. She challenged his right to come home this time with "what's the point you'll just leave again". I have talked to her on her own, but I'm trying to let them work it out themselves. He asst. coached her softball team this summer and that went pretty well. She seems in much better spirits, but that could be because she is reaching that age where some kids prefer they didn't visibly have ANY parents. Sigh.
What Chris said, one parent needs to try to be as stable as possible and to tell them that you'll STAY with them no matter what.
