Alone:
Are you new here? Give us some details of your story so we can tell where you are.
Without details it is hard to give you advise other then general advise. Are you familar with the basic concepts? If you are then you have read here that most affairs end eventually, usually within two years...and a lot of them end much sooner.
So it's not silly to cling to hope. There are many people here whoses S has returned to the marriage, some as long as three years later.
You are the only one who can say what is right for you. We can only give you our opinions...and you can take them for what they are...opinions based on our own perceptions, lacking the personal knowledge that you have about the situation (you can take that same advise for counselors, too.
Their job is to take you to a point of realization about what you need out of the relationship. It's still your decision what you do.)

Whatever you decide to do, please come back and share with us and we'll try to help.
Buffy
