Tommorrow we are going (Husband, kids, myself) on a family vacation to remote cottage on a lake. We go there every year and have good friends we'll see up there. Then we will drive down with our good friends and take them to the beach for a few days. This was planned last summer.
My husband has been home a little over 1 month. I am realizing how slow we need to go for recovery. I am hoping this vacation helps him realize what he could loose. And also helps him and I relax together.
My problem is that I know I should not talk about any marriage difficulties during these next few weeks. Intellectually I know it should be a stress free time. But I am soooo impulsive and we will be together soooo much. No electricity at the cottage in the evenings it's campfires, talking, looking at the stars etc. Sounds wonderful right? It always had been in the past.
Here's to hoping I can keep my big mouth shut. Maybe we can regain some sense of intimacy - I am praying.
Well wish me luck
kris

I hope you can have a relaxing time. I like to talk things out also. I can't do that at all right now since H is not living here and we are not talking at all....
It is difficult for me...but I keep reading inspirational books....I try to find ones that I can get through a chapter quickly. It helps me focus!! Spiritual books are the best...they really remind you of what is important and what "others" have endured via suffering and what can be gained from it!!
good luck!
