I started on Serzone last night. I know I shouldn't expect miracles and it may take up to 2 weeks for full benefit.
He started me on a very small dose, which I understand is standard proceedure.
Serzone has an antianxiety agent and also a sleep aid, so I made sure I took the night one last night and the day one this morning.
Last night I couldn't sleep. I haven't slept well for about a week. I felt tired, but jumpy, sleepy, but hyper.
Today I am so sleepy I can't hardly stay awake. It feels like my eyelids are to heavy.
I have energy and don't feel foggy headed or drugged, just like my eyes want to close.
I haven't talked to the Dr., but wondered if this is normal at first.

I think the side effects are different for everyone. However, I have tried 4 different types of anti-deps/anxiety meds. All of them left me with that jumpy feeling, I couldn't sleep and I kept my jaws clamped all the time. Right now I'm on Effexor which has the same side effects but not as bad. If your symptoms continue you should diffinitely call your Dr. They aren't doing you any good if you are jumpy and can't sleep.
Good Luck

I was on Serzone and it had no effect at all. I then was put on Zoloft and felt like I was in a stupor. Neither one of them took away the depression. I wouldn't stay on the medication for more then a couple of days feeling like you do. They say to keep trying and eventually you will find one that works. Good Luck!

EssyBoo
I am on Serzone and have been for the last 2 weeks, I am about to go in to Plan B and thought I should be prepared.
OK, the sleepy feeling. Get that quite often, but then again wasn't aware that the day/night tablets were different (will keep that in mind, no more afternoon naps).
They don't make me jumpy or hyper however. I feel now that I have been on them for a while that my emotions are more even and I don't suffer the deep cycles of depression I once did.
On the other hand, I certainly am not on a constant high as a result of taking them, I do have times when there is certainly a feeling of happiness comes over me.
My W came around today unexpectedly and I found it hard to show any emotions towards her at all, sort of a mental numb feeling, but then again I was packing to leave the state for good so not the nicest of times (so i don't know if they would be OK for Plan A).
You can discusss with me on email if you would like to know any more.
"cheated70@hotmail.com".
Take care
Fairenough

I am not as drowsy today. I went to my counseler yesterday and she said that if I am tired from not sleeping well that the Serzone would make me sleepy.
The jumpy feeling was probably just the anxiety, I had had a very busy morning at work and probably had a little extra adrenaline in me.
I don't feel jumpy today, but my morning hasn't really started yet.
I have been told to give it 2 full weeks.
I'm not sure if there is a difference between the AM and PM pills, I'm a stickler for following directions. I actually read them and everything [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com].
