Just wanted to share a bright moment with you all-yes they DO happen. This started in July when a friend of daughters was here. We were in the car and they were talking about places they had been. The friend started talking about Maine and daughter said that she would like to go there. I chimed in and said that I had always wanted to go there too because it had always seemed like one of those wild places. (I am very much the outdoor girl). H added -well I am going to Maine in September for a conference (4 days)and you can come along but I will be tied up in meetings most of the time.
I thought about it (not too long) and told him that I would take the time off and would like to go with him.
Move to last weekend. We were walking and H asked when my mom was coming out. I told him and he said that he had been thinking and would I like to go up early to spend some time together before the conference started. As I told my mom, it was one of those moments when I felt like grabbing him by the throat and screaming, 'are you crazy?? Of course I would like that!' Instead I said yes that sounds like a lot of fun. So our 4 days has been extended now to 9 days! We are going to spend a couple more days there after too!!
What are we going to do? Where are we going to stay? I don't know and don't care. We will figure that out when we get there. ALL that is important is that we are going together.
Of course I had to be wicked and wonder if OW knew that I was going. Probably not, but I don't really care. She is not my problem, never was. She is all his! She was just added to the list of problems that we already had and as I see them being resolved by 'us' I can see that in time she will be 'resolved' too. (Dissolved would be better but that is just my devilish nature coming out again). I may have to send a nice postcard to H at his office however telling him how much I enjoyed spending the time together with him in Maine!:P
WOW-how things have changed since January. It hasn't been easy. Looking deep into myself to find answers to questions I asked of myself was almost as painful as H affair. I am still on that journey, but as I told my H, my soul is at peace because I know what is important and that is how I am living. Openly and honestly. That simple.

Hey...I come from Maine and if there is anything I can fill you in on, let me know. I have been in sunny CA all summer with my H and it has been wonderful..I wish you both the best...
the one thing I do know is that southern Maine has experienced more rain this summer than in many years....northern Maine has been good though.
let me know where you are going, maybe I can give you some ideas!

Starry-Eyed -
Hi, Maine must be the place to be this summer. My H and I leave this Friday for a week vacation. We're spending 3 days in Bar Harbor, 2 days in Boothbay Harbor, a day in Portland (there's a Portland Seadogs game we're going to), and 2 days in Ogunquit.
In fact, on vacation, we are going to read promise statements or renew our wedding vows - just the two of us. I know there are a lot of scenic spots in Maine (went there as a kid a couple of times), but is there any place in particular you would recommend?
I was thinking about sunset near a lighthouse, read the statements, sip champagne, and then maybe follow it up with a great, romantic dinner. If you have any suggestions, I would be very grateful - otherwise, I'm sure we can "wing it." Thanks a bunch - hope you don't mind that I took you up on your offer to Victoria F.

S.E.-Thanks! Any info would be appreciated by both myself and SKM (aren't we all just like the musketeers anyway? One for all and all for one).
H and I will be staying at the Maine Coast Experience resort in Brooklin ME on Eggemoggin Reach from the 5th through the 10th. Looks like a wonderful place! And I just keep looking at this picture of the king size bed with the ocean view ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) . Before then I don't know, someplace small and cozy would be nice! Who knows, maybe we will just pitch a tent somewhere and really get back to nature. So if you have any ideas I am all ears, want to make this a very special time for us.

SKM..sounds like you are gonna have an awesome time! My favorite lighthouse is just a bit south of Ogunquit...in York, follow route one into york and ask for Nubble Lighthouse, there are great rocks to sit on and benches...as for the romantic dinner, the White Barn in Kennebunk(or is it Kennebunkport) is fabulous I hear although pricey...let me know how you make out..
VF...I have not heard of the place you are going...do you know of any larger cities around it?? I come from the very southern tip so most of my knowledge is from there...camping out in nature sounds like a great place to bond though and there are tons of places in Maine...happy trails!!

Starry-eyed
Thanks for the advice. We've read about the White Barn - maybe we'll just have to try it. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
