Genie,
I am not so sure. This morning I tried to be affectionate (just a good morning kiss) but she was a little uptight, so I withheld. She had to go to the office early and I didn't, so decided to work at home for awhile before doing some errands. It took me more than expected and I got to the office around 3 PM. Everything was OK, it almost felt like in the good ol' days.
I asked her if she wouldn't mind staying home Thursday night (tomorrow) because we have this thing going on Friday morning and I want to be fresh (can't sleep when she's not here); she said "no problem" and didn't ask for any time compensation. Later she left her personal e-mail open (yeah, she now has one that I helped her setup) and I couldn't help but to open some of the mail she had already read. There was an interesting one from today, in which OP answered W's earlier mail commenting about our conversation from last night; W saying that I was wonderful but that they had to do things slowly so not to upset me "too much" and because there is my daughter, now last night she had said that she wasn't ready to commit with OP "not yet", that it would take time although she was thinking about it. OP's answer was pushy: "I understand but I can't help it", "I don't stop thinking about you"-something that W also wrote, "I can't wait to see you", etc. (yuk!!)
Tonight we had this OTHER dinner with this OTHER couple also visiting from out of town (we live in a resort area, in case you don't know). Last night (Tuesday) she had suggested that since my daughter looked so tired we shouldn't put her through another night of dinning with adults because of school; however, today she INSISTED that the girl went with us. We met at the restaurant- she had gone to pick up my daughter and our friends and after dinner she volunteered to take our friends back and asked my d to go with me; when asked her see you at home? she answered "later".
How can I put it? I am not angry but sad. I sensed what was going on but again tried to convince myself that I was wrong, since after our long conversation last night I really thought that we had broken the communication barrier that somehow we built over recent years, but today I don't recognize her; I didn't marry a manipulative double-talking b**ch (excuse my French). Last night's talk made me believe that in despite of everything we would always be friends. Today I don't know, I really don't know. She could just said "I'm going out after dinner" or "would you mine taking the child because I'm going out?" what could I had answered?
I've always procrastinate on many things (which drives her crazy) but when it comes to important or urgent matters I'm used to make decisions fast when necessary and stick with them. But what is the decision????
One can be… I may have a way of "promoting" OP- a way of letting headquarters know that she's soooo good that they should have her there, but then what if W goes with her?
Thanx for caring.
ThisAlex
------------------
If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about Trust and Awareness.
[This message has been edited by ThisAlex (edited December 09, 1999).]
