Saw two very interesting news bit on Alienation of Affection from http://walc4u.bizland.com
There is a link to the million dollar award granted to the wife who's husband ran off with his secretary.
There is also a story there that NC is proposing to do away with the law calling it "outdated". It seems to me that that is a case of the lawyers/the powerful trying to cover their butts. If there is anyone out there in NC, I'd be writing to my congressman right now and making sure that this law stays on the books. This million dollar settlement goes a long way in symbolically reinstating the marital vows most of us believe in when we got married. By striking it down, they are saying that they do not care about us or our children. I think that is wrong!

Until sometime in the 1960's the law in New York state had a criminal law for alienation of affection. The OP could actually be arrested for it and tried in a criminal court.
WARNING - NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART OP TO READ: As for the award settlement - a million dollars seems silly. I would prefer corporal punishment or perhaps being forced to sit and watch live coverage of the affair partner screwing a dozen dancing girls ... I wonder how long that "secretary" will be the wife until her husband starts boffing his NEW secretary?
Disgusted,
------------------
terri
Courage
Whatever course you decide upon,
there is always someone to tell you
that you are wrong.
There are always difficulties arising
which tempt you to believe that your
critics are right.
To map out a course of action
and follow it to an end
requires courage.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Some of you know I am filing suit against the OW for Personal Injury in Texas on the 22nd of September.
The attorney I found must have been divine providence. He is willing to take this case and prosecute to the fullest, feeling very strongly that I have been severely personally injured.
He is looking to set a precedent as the Alienation of Affection laws have been watered down or dismissed altogether as Popeye has explained.
This started out as a vendetta against the OW for all she stole from me and how deeply she has hurt me and changed my life...now it has become something much, much more. It's a crusade.
Looking for prayers on the 22nd.
Catnip =^^=
