Hey Gang,
Hold on to your valuables, Medic just had another idea and dumb question. I know what you're thinking! So, Stop it, I'm on medication now.... ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif)
I just got off the phone with a dear old friend. If she heard me call her old she would kill me, twice, yeah she's a medic too.
Actually it was one of my partners from years ago. We were very close. Too close if you know what I mean. No, we never crossed the line, but it could have happened.
She left EMS to have children about 7 years ago. We have maintained contact ever since. She is my best female friend and I have never slept with her.
She asked how things were going between me and Val. I gave her the scoop and asked how things were going with her. They were having problems before.
After the update I asked her if she felt that she was happily married now. She responded I'm always happy and it doesn't matter if I'm married or not. That she doesn't hinge on H to be happy. It is within oneself to maintain happiness.
FINALLY, my question to all. Putting aside the anger, disappointment, resentment, and feeling of betrayal, are you happy with yourself?
I am. Sorry, probably just another dumb idea.

------------------
"It's not over till we say it's over! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? H*ll no!" Blutto...Animal House 1984
Wishing us all the Best.
Medic

Hey, Medic -- If I put away the things you suggested, then, yes, I am happy with myself. It's really not a dumb question. It makes people like me pull ourselves out of our problems for a bit to do a little necessary self-evaluation.
Good one!!!!

Hey Guys, Me again!
LWB,
I would be more than willing to yell at your H for you. Some have told me I have a big mouth. Go figure?
YY,
Looks like your secret it out. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
BillJ,
You have to stay on the path to find your own happiness. No one else can give that to you.
HP,
I am glad I brought you back. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) You have to be happy with yourself before you can tackle bigger obstacles.
I thought I was learning a lot here and was trying to impress Maria with my newfound knowledge by asking her if she was happily married. Well like many times before she struck me down. Did get me thinking though.
Marriage is not intended to make you happy. You, yourself must be happy first. You don't marry for happiness, you marry for love.
Words of wisdom or else I'm just FUBAR!

------------------
"It's not over till we say it's over! Medic -- You have a talent for tapping into what makes us feel good about ourselves. Usually it's your sense of humor, but this time, it was an unusually on-target question. Thanks, man.........

Medic,
Yes, I have to agree with Heartpain - true, true!
For me, I have always felt happy - just bubbles up from inside. What has me crazy right now is the FEAR I am experiencing through all of this. That is also bubbling up from the inside.
But, yes, I am normally a happy, happy person and always have been! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
Desiree
------------------
"Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things in which smiles and kindnesses and small obligations, given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort."
Sir Humphry Davy
I don't ever think I've seen this topic before, and it's a goodun!
Maybe an issue of self esteem? Always had a problem in that department, but I try to do the Stewart Smalley Dailey Affirmations at least 4 times a week (looking into the mirror, reciting "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and doggone it, people like me" into a mirror, and that helps! (SNL circa 1992) ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
[This message has been edited by Connor (edited December 09, 1999).]

I used to be happy with myself, then I lost for awhile. Now I am working on it and I feel like I am almost there. Have been working hard on it. I think that is one of the reasons all of this c**p happened. BUt I am getting there whether or not H is around.
------------------
di

In general Yes I am a Happy person. And before all this happened in my life I laughed a lot and made others laugh. And you make me
laugh...My valuables are in tact, this is a good question you raised. Happiness does come from self not from finding it in others.

FOR SURE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hey Guys,
HP,
I'm just trying to help my friends out here. I have made so much progress within the last week and just want to share.
RMA,
GEE, I couldn't tell that you were a happy person from your posts. Tell us how you really feel!
Conner,
It's funny because I was blow drying my hair yesterday and took a look in the mirror and said to myself, Damn, what a good looking guy! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
Karmagrrl,
Your post hit me funny because I also use the term sniffing. I'm guessing with the same definition. We have been chatting for the last years. I have no intention of ruining her marriage. I would like to talk to you if you are willing. Hey Medic;
Did you know that.....If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat up one cup of coffee. (Hardly seems worth it!)
Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure.
A pig's orgasm lasts for 30 minutes. (In my next life I want to be a pig!)
Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour. (Still not over that pig thing!)
The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue. (Hmmmmm..........)
The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the males head off.
(Honey, I'm home. What the.....)
Some lions mate over 50 times a day. (In my next life I still want to be a pig...quality over quantity!)
A cat's urine glows under a blacklight.
Starfish don't have brains.
After typing all these, all I can say is,
"Damn Pigs"

Hey Devastated2,
Just got back from bringing the kid home from college for the weekend. Just read your post, Gee and I though I had too much time on my hands.
Just a few questions for ya.
With regard to the coffee heating up thing. Is that regular, decaf or flavored coffee?
Do dolphins smoke after sex too?
Pass on the pig thing!
About this headbanging. How many calories do you burn banging someone elses head up against the wall? Perhaps OM?
Tongue being the strongest muscle. I accidentaly shocked myself a few years ago with the defibrillator at 200 joules. WOW that hurt like the dickens. For a week after that experience my tongue was NOT the strongest muscle. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif)
Pass on praying mantis thing too.
Who exactly is watching the lions do all this mating? This is a crime in 17 states.
What about the cat tootsie rolls? Do they glow too?
I must have worked with more that a few star fish in my lifetime!
That and my head did not explode, yet. I feel it's getting close though.
------------------
"It's not over till we say it's over! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? H*ll no!" Medic,
Yeah, too much time on my hands. As for the starfish, I too have worked with many, I may be living with one. LOL.
The cats tootsie rolls............I don't know.
And as for the rest, probably is some government reasearch which would explain the money wasted and taxes being so HIGH.
And as for the pig thing, one more of those things in life that aren't fair. And yes I understand about the head banging of OP.
Where did I get such info? The internet of course. This was sent to me, but have heard some of this before. As for the tongue, hope you have recovered. Sorry that happened. But it made me laugh. Goodness knows I NEED more of that in my life. I use to. Trying to get it back despite all the other c$#p I'm dealing with as well as the rest of us.
Have a Great day at least try to. And I'm glad your head hasn't exploded. Have to run to my neice's birthday party now.

I've said this before:
I was voted "Most Humorous" in High School, and everyone has always said that my humor kept me strong UNTIL my affair. My H's affairs hurt like hell, but I bucked up and found myself again, kept my sense of humor, and made it through a bit worse for the wear, but in one piece.
Since my affair, and for several months before (around Oct, 1998) I have been the most unhappy, sad, down person I know. I hate who I've become. I'm taking meds, I'm seeing a counselor, and it's gonna take some time. Obviously, all that time I thought I was doing okay, I wasn't. It is all coming to the fore now.
I'm one sad puppy...
~Sheryl
