I live for this board. Every time I have to deal with OM (we work together), I come here. Every time my H comes for an unexpected visit or calls, I come here. Every time I'm tempted to go to the OM, I come here. I LIVE HERE!!
Is this normal? I hope so!

i think i spend a couple hours a day here, and this weekend, i had to hold myself down from coming into the computer room while H was here.
If nothing else, at least i really feel like im handling my situation a lot better.
and it sounds like if this place is keeping you from calling OM, then it is a darn good addiction substitute for now.
boy, i sure can lose track of time here, though!
------------------
for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, till death do us part.

I'm an addict...although it hasn't stopped me from calling OM yet! I'm hoping it will soon be a substitute!
I'm sure if I didn't have this site to go to I'd be in much worse shape than I am now!

Add me to the addicted list! For me, it's because no one else can understand the weird thoughts that go through my head about my marriage. Seems like everyone thinks it's time to move on and just accept that things are over, OR that I need to get a grip and just accept my marriage for what it is. I don't think these people realize what my H tells me, and what MY life is like. Here, I can be as stressed out as I wanna' be without being told to "move on" or "get over it."
Thank God for this place!

I just read a timely article this morning:
http://www.abcnews.go.com/sections/tech/DailyNews/netaddiction990823.html

Hi - yup, count me in as addicted.
This board at first was my lifeline to sanity. I couldn't talk to anyone about our situation, and this was the best place I could have found support.
I have found that family and friends will side with me, and not help me build my marriage. Instead they want justice for me, and want to protect me. They really just tried to find ways to end my marriage, not build it.
Stay on the board - even if it is addicting. I can't think of a better thing to be addicted to at a time like this.
addicted also but that's ok. When I'm feeling really stressed or alone I just log on and read and vent and then feel much, much better.
I could think of much worse things to be addicted to.

Count me in too. Funny thing is, I will stay away from here for a month at a time sometimes. Then, I'll come back and can't stay away. Even funnier, I come here when my marriage is going well, explain that one! I guess when things are going bad, I can't handle other's pain. I'm the kind of person who hurts for others, and I guess coming here when I'm down will overwhelm me. Or I could just be too absorbed in my own problems to see past them. A contradiction, I know, but maybe it's a little of both.
Heck, now that I think about it, since I'm a psych student, I just like helping others. Something that's difficult to do when I'm in a bad state of mind. Whatever the reason, I am glad this place exists.
------------------
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. MBF is far and away the best forum of any kind that I've found on the Internet so far. I just everything against my experience here and find that nothing else even comes close! You could call it an addiction, I guess. I come because most people here seem really willing to open up about their lives, especially their difficult relationships, and to be totally honest about feelings, and I think that's rare in this world, EXTREMELY rare! And it's helped me immensely to know that other people are in the same boat, marriage-wise. Plus I've received a lot of great advice about how to deal with broken monogamy. So it's not just an addiction, it's an adventure and probably one of the best forms of therapy available. And no subject is taboo - sex, lies, videotape (audiotape too - all you phone tappers out there!), you name it!
Regards and blessings,
--Wex

Funny I see this topic now - My last reply to my own post today about needing help mentioned by addiction to this forum. Some days I can't make without coming here 15 time even if I don't post anything.
It has kept my sanity. I know that if my H comes back to the marriage I will continue to rely on everyone here. My hope is to one day be one of the ones who made it - maybe I can offer a glimmer of hope to everyone. I know that over time - or if I wasn't a homemaker - I wouldn't be here as much.
Trustntruth -
I just got angry with onother friend for judging what I am doing - She thinks it is tearing me apart (it is). She thinks I should show my H all my anger. I blew up, because I have explained before. If I want to save my marriage I can't show him anger all the time. She doesn't understand. I just hate when anyone you tell assumes that if they have been thru anything remotely similar that it is exactly the same. It drives me crazy. Sometimes, I wish I had not told anyone!
------------------
H
