This evening, I'm low. This is the place to hang out awhile. I'm doing this instead of:
-buying a bottle of JD to numb my sorrows
-emailing OW, whom I've cut off for nearly two weeks.
I am taking a male friend out for pie and coffee. Can't talk to him about my particular problem, however. So I talk to you-all.
Counselor said this past week sounds that W and I have been emotionally divorce for nearly 8 years. Living together, functioning together, but 'not together' much emotionally. And I feel that intensely now. That's one thing that led me to OW. We're both trying to make things go, don't want divorce, but I honestly don't seem to have much emotional attachment for W. I've told counselor that if W and I separated today, I probably wouldn't miss her that much, and could live pretty well without her.
I hate to sound like I'm whining, but this really bothers me. Does anyone else out there have similar feelings? Is there anything I can do to change how I feel? I hate to think that I might spend the rest of my life living with someone I don't feel like I love, other than being concerned for her well-being. Am I selfish?
Thanks for listening.
Pilgrim
Hi, Pilgrim.. Sorry you're having one of those nights. And very proud of you for what you're working on.
I guess the only cure is time. Lots of time and effort. And there will nights like this.
No good advice, just wanted you to know someone was listening tonight.
Hang in there.
Lori

Yup, times like this, I understand them well...
Time is all you need... and whatever you do -
DON'T EMAIL OW
I know you knew that, but it's just a reminder. Whenever even the slightest contact is initiated, it can escalate into "full blown" before you know it. Be careful.
It's good that you come here instead. I did the same thing during withdrawl- still do!!
~Sheryl

Lostva and New Beginning,
Thanks for the encouragement! Withdrawal is so hard, especially when living with your partner means working through a lot of negative issues.
Went to a place called Pioneer Pies and had a big piece of French Silk pie and rich coffee. Sooo good! Conversation was good with friend, and I did most of the listening! Got me off myself and my problems. I feel much more positive about things today.
Have a good day, both of you!
Pilgrim
