Can a person see something, have several thoughts about what they are looking at and have it all not possible? I saw a gift i didn't get and my husband said he had nothing to do with it. I know I saw it in his office and then it was gone after Xmas. I thought it going to be for me for Xmas . I didn't get it. Could I have imagined something like that?

I had found evidence of my H's A Nov00. I found pictures of a woman on the computer in a secret location and then found a woman's name and phone number in his palm pilot. I had to snoop to find these things. I later found some long distance calls from the cell phone. The number that was called was his office but they were long distance. He made up lies for all these things. I knew things weren't quite right but what could I do without more proof?
It wasn't until Jan 01 when I found a secret email account (which he also covered up quite well) that I found the emails they exchanged. Even then he lied about it but couldn't do it for long. He admitted finally.
My having found evidence in Nov00 was enough to make him stop seeing OW and dedicate to our M. I saw the difference. However because of Jan 01 discovery he has really changed. It has been a rough road, often not even knowing whether our M will make it, but I wouldn't change discovery at all. He has dedicated himself to honesty and really making the M that we should have rather than based on lies.
I don't know how to make your H admit but you may want to start snooping to see if you can uncover other things. Maybe faced with more evidence he will come clean. While my H was lying, which also continued after Dday, I also thought I was going crazy. He was so adamant that he was telling the truth that I started to doubt myself.
I don't want to sound as if I think your H had to have had an affair. I'm not you. But examine the facts carefully. Also could he have been hiding a gift for someone else that you may have been angry about? Like mother, daughter etc?
Good luck and keep us posted.

Trueblue makes sense. If he is involved with someone else lead him to believe you "buy" his story about the gift, THEN keep your eyes open, look.
