PorscheS,
I now understand what you mean about abuse. Everyone reacts differently I guess after going through child abuse. I was abusted from 6-7 years of age. By a police Officer!!! I have gotten over this, it doesn't affect me in my life very much. Maybe just a little. (I'm not the ugliest woman and when I see a man is interested in me I react very cold!!) I can enjoy good looks from a man but if he'd came towards me, gosh I'd probably drop dead!!! this is why I can pretty well say, I'm not capable of having sex with any other man besides my own.
I don't find it unusual that you feel so "blackened" about the things that you loved. We've been in great recovery since d-d Jan.13 and I've lost my passion for so many things I used to love. I'm still waiting for my "heart feeling" to come back. I sold my beloved horse, (OW was involved with our horses) I have stopped being very involved with my dogs. (OW was involved and I used to be into breeding)We have stopped building our new house since D-D. I can't get my "heart feeling"! We were right in the middle of building the house we had dreamt about when the my H got involved with OW. I'm noticing that things are slowly getting better. But very slowly. My H is aware of this and is giving me all the time I need. I'm just trying to explain that I'm pretty sure that many of us are going through the same feelings. Not doing all these other things is giving us the possibility to concentrate on one another and this is really helping us. Take your time, I think you both need it and deserve it. Not sure this means much....but im proud of the way u handled things. It cant be an easy choice to put a loved one into a place where u know they will get help and heal, but in the meantime..hopefully no angry feelings at being there (make sense?)
AS with ANY abusive problem, any addiction, ect ect.. it is going to take TIME, PATIENCE, LOVE, UNDERSTANDING. It is like an alcoholic. Can they stay sober once out of jail/prison? hmm, time only tells. REAL devotion to healing and GREAT support from loved ones/friends.
DONT bring up the infidelity. LEAVE it alone for a while. She CANT answer your questions. It is too overwhelming to her. EVEN to me who hasnt lived the life that she has, couldnt deal with "interrogation" from my H. and im sure it isnt interrogation from you, but it FEELS that way.
When she comes home, just love her. TReat her like your early days. Love, romance, gifts, walks, quiet time.. etc. That will win her over, and have her start trusting you. For she trusts NO man.
Keep up the good work.
