I think I have pretty much shut down emotionally. I know how I really feel, i just don't feel it. I feel a little sad but other than that i just feel numb. I told him that maybe it really is over with us. I just don't know anymore. I'm just not feeling anything--anger, love, nothing-- and this has never happened to me before. Is this normal?

dear lost-this is shock. i went through it for about 3 weeks. it was like i was watching my life out of my body. didn't feel a thing. i was completely shut down. scared the crap out of my husband.

unfortunately this is pretty normal a reaction for the trauma you are going through. medication will help, dont be afraid of it.

Thank you nikko--
I can't figure out why this is happening now, after I thought i had accepted everything that is going on. also can't figure out why this never happened to me before, when I was dealing with abuse or grief. But honestly, i think i prefer this to the way i have been feeling, so many ups and downs lately. Now i feel very calm, peaceful even. I think this "emotional vacation" is a good thing right now--don't know how it will affect me later--hope everything doesn't come back to me worse than it was.
