I wrote earlier about my husband of 8&1/2 years suddenly deciding he's not happy with me or our 11 month old son - just found out that he bought a condo down the street from our house and is living there with his secretary (also married)and her 2 children. We've had a 12 year relationship - everyone tells me to move on and get on with my life. What's the consensus out there? will I ever be able to trust him again? will I ever be happy again? Thanks for your input - SHD

Hi and welcome to MB,

Well right now, he does not deserve your trust. Is he in his right mind? Maybe not but he is also a danger to your family since he is taking family funds to spend without your knowledge.

Get yourself some financial security, work with a lawyer, see the doctor (if you need meds), build your personal support group, read up on the info here (concepts section). Find out if it is company policy for bosses & sectretaries to be having an Affair. Becareful how to dispense your findings. Don't let him threaten you. If she is paying rent, legally find out if you can collect your portion of it. Find out what the divorce options, child support, spousal support, separation agreements are allowed in your state.

Please take care and let us know how you are doing.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I have been working with an attorney, however, things are still extremely difficult. At the moment, he has been awarded visitation - two dinners per week, and one overnight from Sunday AM to Monday AM. But, my husband has become so vicious! Per my attorney, that's one effect of committing adultery... Now what do I do? how can I ever mend my own life??? SHD

Hi Stephanie,

How do you mend your life? Slowly. Unfortunately, this is a very slow process, of healing, mending the M or moving forward without the M. However it goes, it is a slow process.

Orchid is one of many out here who have such practical advice.

Take care
