Why we have been invaded? Why do you think Islam is the fastest-growing religion in America? Is it because religion no longer dominates everyday life in Western society? A NATION CHALLENGED: AMERICAN MUSLIMS; Islam Attracts Converts By the Thousand, Drawn Before and After Attacks By JODI WILGOREN Source: The New York Times: October 22, 2001, Monday Section: National Desk http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/3016/fastest.htm "Islam is the fastest-growing religion in America, a guide and pillar of stability for many of our people..." Hillary Rodman Clinton, Los Angeles Times, May 31, 1996, p.3 http://www.whyislam.org/discoverwhy.htmhttp://www.islam-guide.comIn my opinion Islam is frequently misunderstood and may even seem exotic in some parts of today's world. Perhaps this is because religion no longer dominates everyday life in Western society; whereas, for Muslims, Islam is life. Muslims make no artificial division between the secular and the sacred.

I wish that there could be peace among people's of all religions, and that we could love one another, as friends, who appreciate and respect the differences that we all have. God, or whom ever you call the one who created us, made each one of us unique and in different topographies, where we set out to live as civil as we can.
When we stop trying to change each other and that includes in our MARRIAGES, when we treat each other caring about our differences and learning about them... and yes at times, should change the way we approach each other. Which is what MBing is about.
I do not think you can say that one religion is better than another, but when a family worships God together, then it helps to create the atmosphere of love and caring and promoting healthy relationships with one another. Jesus taught us in our religion, to love your enemies, and that he who is without sin can cast the first stone, and he talked about respecting your spouse. In marriage, we are united as one.
So, I do not think it is fair to say that Western people do not worship God enough. What people do in the "west" is in private. But, of course, we do have the choice to worship as we were raised by our parents or to choose another religion. No, there is no dominant religion. God is present in every life, every where, in my opionion. Although we can not see him, we do at times feel his presence very strongly.

When Jesus said, Let he who is without sin cast the first stone... he meant that we all have sin and we should not do it period. If we could all follow the idea of just appreciating each other for our uniqueness, and be kind to each other.
And to a degree each human being and situation has this burden. So you can control the masses with religion but it doesn't insure the human nature any better. It is through sharing of concern for other human beings and the plight that we commonly share which is to live healthy in heart and mind. To share starting in our families and let all of that good ooze over to the ones we deal with in our day to day lives and our careers. Husbands love your wives and wives love your husbands.
When we share the love in our hearts you can feel the good. And I believe that this is above all what God is wanting us to do. Our sad feelings are keys to what we should or should not be doing. What promotes love is loving acts. What promotes a lingering bad feeling is acts of hurt.
The burden is on each one of us to teach love. And forgiveness as we have talked about here at MB seems to be the responsibility of the one who is the victim of the pain. It is in the love. There does seem to be more love in a broken heart. (Unless there is spiteful hatred, which clears out love quicker than anything..)
Being able to respect our differences is to learn about each other. Prejudices are based on partial understandings and the desire to be the dominant one in religion or race. The United States are a country filled with all the peoples of the world. To call us all one thing is ridiculous. In our history, we have worked and created change for the good of the various peoples so that attitudes and sense of justice is fair among the different people.
Carrying the hate for a type of people is a burden. It is lifted when we stop hating and start learning. Through knowledge of others and understanding of others ...there grows something better.

saraja,
I think you are a bit lost. This is a marriage building site. And we are quite happy to help with all marriages....even Muslim ones. This part of the forum in particular is dealing with spouses who have just found out their H/W is cheating. In that frame of mind, and within the depth of their pain....I doubt seriously they will be in the mood to discuss politics. However, as diverse as the Internet is....you should have no problem finding a discussion on western views. For the record, I am disturbed by anyone who believes that their views are the only views and there is no room in the world for tolerance. I hardly find that Muslims are any more open minded than Westerners in this regard however.

saraja:
If you wish to bring up the topic of Islam and marriage, that is fine.
A post just advocating a religion or religious sect does not fit into the specific theme of "marriage building".
Please direct the theme of your topic of these forums; i.e. "Marriage Building".
Thank you,
OneGoing
