Hello,
I am wondering if anyone out there has had to recover from an affair long distance? My husband had a short lived affair recently. I have been deployed away from home since last March and am currently stationed out of state. We were able to spend two months together recently while I was back home for some major surgery. Knew something was not right and the OW ended up calling and tellling me all about it.
We went to couseling while I was still home and have spent countless hours talking about it. Hubby is continuing counseling on his own and we are spending countless hours on the phone working things out. At this time there is no definite on when I will be able to return home. Has anyone else made it through recovery and rebuilding while stationed apart? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You in advance

kopper,

This is such a tough situation. Welcome to the forum. I don't have experience with this problem, but I do know many couples that have done some rebuilding while separated.....not quite as separated as you two....but I think that yes, if you are both committed that it can be done. You realize of course, the built in dangers that come with a job that separates the two of you for so long. H and I have spent a great deal of time apart. Those separations account for two affairs (H's). It's impossible to meet most needs when you can't see each other, but fill out the EN Questionaires anyway, because there are a few that you could try to concentrate on. I suspect that sexual fulfillment is one of your H's top needs....and that's why he has probably weakened and betrayed you. It's going to very hard to affair-proof your marriage if that is so...and your job remains the same. I know this is hard, wish I could offer more help. I'm here alot, so if I see some one in this sitch, I'll send them your way. Blessings!
