I am new to this board, and its hard to sit here a type how I am feeling when all I want to do is curl up and cry. My husband told me last night that he has thought about leaving for the last two months..he told me that I am not a good mom, and that he just doesn't know where things are going..he said we are a boring family..(we have two kids..one is mentally handicapped)..I just don't know what to do..

Welcome. I don't blame you for feeling like crying and curling up in a ball. However, eventually, you're going to need to take control of your destiny. And this place can help you do it.

If there is no infidelity involved, check out the Emotional Needs board. It gets a lot more action than here, and lots of men and women are dealing with spousal mid-life crises. (MLC for short.) which may be what your husband is going through. The “Boring” comment is a clue. Include in your post your age, your husband’s age and how long you’ve been married. Your children’s age and the fact that you are facing the challenges of a special needs child are important too. And there are others in your boat who can offer practical advice.

NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS! Your husband hasn’t walked out the door yet. And as long as he’s in the home, you can practice Plan A to bring him out of withdrawal. Do not bring up him moving out at all.

Mbers will tell you to read everything here. Go to the library and get His Needs/Her Needs and LoveBusters. Read them. There’s details there that aren’t on the site.

Again welcome, and there’s hope.
