Had a great weekend with the kids. They stayed over at friends Fri nite and I got to do some things.
But Sat & Sun were busy. Sat morning, d had a bball game. They lost, but d just missed the tying bucket as time ran out. So in the afternoon, d and I went grocery shopping. I hadn't been there for about 3 weeks so we needed everything. It took about 2.5 hrs. We also were looking for some French stuff for a class project. She was doing a report on Christmas in France and they get extra credit if they bring in food from that land. She got a recipe off the internet and her and I made Chocolate Yule Logs. I had to substitute some American items for the French, but they came out real well. Of course we had to make them for everyone in her class, so we needed 48. I don't remember that many kids in her class!! Oh, oh, could I have been duped by a 12 yo?;D
On Sun, we went to church and attended the birthday party for Jesus. We almost missed it as we slept in. Somebody was depending on their daughter's alarm clock to go off. It did and I didn't hear it and she shut it off. We made it in time though !
My s was a shepard and my d got to hold a candle in the ending part.
After a gourmet lunch at Che McDonalds, and finishing the Yule Logs(it was a 2 day job)I went Christmas Shopping and got 99% of that done.
Then in the evening I made 3 kinds of cookies and then my s helped with the sugar cookies. He said he really likes Christmas and making cookies and decorating. I made the Pillsbury kind and they are quite good.
After all this I made plans for Christmas with my mother and sister and also for my SIL,(ew's sister).
So, so far, so good !! This is the best weekend I've had in a long, long while!!!!
