Jeepers. I haven't looked at JFO in ages; I usually post over on GQII these days, since the brand new folks fresh from D-day are just too painful for me most of the time.

So I look in, and I see an ENTIRE PAGE of people screaming for Cerri's attention.

Yikes!!!

Now, I think Cerri can, in fact, work miracles. But at the same time, she's only one person with ten fingers!

It seems to me that there must be a better way to help people than having 'em lined up and screaming for Cerri's help. So my question is this:

Who ELSE is really good at this who could help (almost) as much as our dear Cerri? I've heard Star*fish nominated before, and I'll second that one, but who else? And who's got the time and the in-depth knowledge of the MB principles?

There must be a way to make sure everyone who comes here to ask for help actually gets some. I just can't see what it is. So.... what is it?

Well, I'd like to nominate a few people. Just Learning, John39, TooMuchCoffeeman, Orchid, Pepper, Kam, and K. I'm sure I can think of others but I would be happy to get posts from those folks for sure.

The thing is.....cerri is a TRAINED counselor...with her own site and lots of experience. So the rest of us are just amateurs...and folks need to know that. We give our time and do our best, but when in crisis...call the the big dogs!

So.... when are you going to get trained, Star? I've seen you give some mighty, mighty fine advice to folks who needed it! And how about the others you mentioned? There's a need here, who's going to fill it? Y'all step right up, I'm taking names to send to the Harleys.

I guess I see this place, particularly JFO, as a sort of continuous emergency room with only one fully trained doctor (Cerri). So given that, I guess I think that the knowledgeable amateurs are invaluable in doing "intake" and "triage." And some more professionals would be a darned good thing, too.

That's why I said what I said at the end of my post. There's gotta be a way for folks in crisis to get some help here, but without killing off Cerri in the process.

There are some of us who check up JFO on a fairly regular basis. I am pretty sure the 'Harley's' know who those posters are.

Since we are just 'ordinary people', I am not sure what else we can do. I know I have been speaking to a few from JFO off and on over the past 2 years.

It is hard because we all have our real lives to contend with. It is helpful when more can go over and lend a hand to JFO, Preg/child and the Plan A/B boards. EN, recovery and D/d get pretty good support. Periodically we get asked (via a post) to step over and help another board. One example a while back trolls were harassing those on the preg/child site. A bunch went over and help intercept their harmful posts until the moderator's could establish the problem and handle it. There are other incidents where we have 'banded together'.

Just my thoughts and do appreciate your efforts.
