Thanks. I had Tivo record it twice and only ended up with pictures of Saddam.

The show “CNN Presents – Infidelity” was rescheduled for Sat Dec 21 and Sunday Dec 22 at 8pm, with rebroadcasts at 11pm both days. I actually caught a rebroadcast this morning at about 6am. The show touches on a lot of aspects of infidelity. To summarize the results of the show, research shows that the cards are all stacked up against us. Monogamy is very much more the exception then the norm. The question is not if you will experience infidelity in your marriage, but when.
I am the BS, who is still going through the early parts of rebuilding. I am always second guessing the actions of my WS and myself. After watching the show, I feel even worse now. Can I ever really trust anyone.
Anybody else have any opinions on the CNN show about Infidelity? [ December 21, 2003, 07:34 AM: Message edited by: suckerpunchedat42 ]

There are segments that really depresing specially for newbie when they show the segment "chating is in our gene". Actually they are correct. However listen carefully to what ms. Peggy Vaughan has to say.
It shows also M that survive infidelity & M that don't survive one but the BS is thriving.
For you, trust is earn not given. Not until A is ended, WH become FWH, FHW go through withdrawal, FWH works on M, then few years before M could really be patched. However the scar of the A will always be in your M. This is why I can't stand unrepented WS ... many BS are willing to work on M showing that almost unconditional love to WS ... yes, WS wasted it. Sigh, it is like giving a pearl to a pig .
Notice that the couple that survive A ... the BS stood by the M and waited. They were separated for 3 months then she came back home. He did the right thing demanding NC forever with OM. It tooks them 2 years and still recovering their wound. You could patch broken ceramic plate but you could still see the crack.

I tried to watch as much of the show as possible, but the baby kept me busy. I was very grateful that WS sat down to see it. I wasn't sure if he would want to since A has only ended a week ago.
I'm glad they had one woman that had an A after only 8 months of M and another man who declared that he was happy in his M before becoming a WS. My husband has said that people in happy Ms do not have As. WS said he is trying to understand why he had the A and the show was helpful in that regard.

I wish I had know about it. I have been so busy the last two weeks, that I did not come to MB, so I did not see it.
Oh, well.

Didn't catch the entire show but I liked what I saw. One exception, they interviewed a woman who was has had affairs with multiple married men. She of course rationalized her behaviour. They asked her, as though she were an expert, what people should do if their spouse were to become suspitious. Her sagely advice. DENY! DENY! DENY! What a frickin' joke. I laughed out loud. They should have HAD one of the true experts rebutt her and say," if you want to save your M and have any respect for your spouse BE HONEST! BE HONEST! BE HONEST!

The show must have been filmed several months back. They showed Shirley Glass numerous times and she died roughly two months ago.
Yeah I hated the segment with the OM/WW slash do what I want to do woman.
I was somewhat surprised at the first part with the WW and BH. She left him less than a year into the marriage for another man. Came back and now they have a newborn. I was touched by her remorse once she realized everything but I was also struck by the fact she strayed because early in the marriage her husband was working like crazy to provide her the finer things.

I also missed it, but I wouldn't expect much from a CNN production! That WW and her tips on deceiving the BS would have made me SICK! I wonder if she ever considers the huge amount of PAIN she causes others, people she doesn't even know, while she pursues her selfish pleasure? Not to mention STD's etc.
