This is my first post so please excuse my use of the acronyms. D day was one week ago today. My H had been going to internet chat rooms for about 18 months when I thought he was working late. He had a 6 week A with a woman he met. They met twice. Her husband contacted me and the A was still going on. My H is extremely apologetic and has not spoken to her since. Believe me I have checked. Looking back there is no doubt my H has been depressed. My H immediately made an appointment with a counselor for himself which he has already seen twice. We have been to a MC as a couple and will go again tomorrow. Our emotions have been everywhere. He has anwered every single question I have asked with disgustingly honest answers. I am absolutely devastated. He says he will do anything and everything to win me back.I am still hurt and have major issues but I am already preparing to repair our relationship. My question is, have a gotten to this place too quickly? Have I given in too quickly or should I force him and myself to suffer more? I want to make sure I do this correctly. He is NOT taking advantage of this. Any input will be appreciated.

Welcome to marriagebuilders. It is a good place to be under the circumstances.

Most wandering spouses suffer much more than we could make them suffer. So instead of concentrating on his suffering, I would put my efforts toward recovering and having a much better marriage than before.

Start reading here and posting. As you see that many wandering spouses say and do the same things, you will not take it all so personally.

The good sign is that your husband broke it off. Many, in fact most, do not. They can't get the strength somehow.

So stick with us and we will help you through this.
