My H and I have been together 26 years (23 M), we have been to 2 MC's approx 10 years apart. The first was a male counselor, but only 3 sessions and he felt we had "communication" issues and left us with that. The second was a female and we had sessions for 3 months. She seemed to help us, but I never felt she really helped address all our issues. I felt comfortable with both. I want to try this again but I would like to find which makes a man feel more comfortable to open up?

I went to IC with a man. We went to MC with a woman.
I think it depends on the man and the MC. You have to have a MC who has some real skills and knows what he/she is doing. You probably want someone you feel uncomfortable around and will ask *you* the tough questions.
