Ive posted a couple times, I found out about an affair 1 week ago, knew for 2 months. Wife is kind of apathetic about working things out. She has read through majority of areas w/ MB. She starts couseling for herself (mutual decision)before working our problems or maybe simultaneously. She she talks about Divorce and not sure if she wants to continue on. My question is, how do I continue to do what feels and seems to be the right thing when everything is either rejected, annoying, damaging, or at best no effect. Reading the other replys and Q&A's, how can I keep doing this and dealing with the pain and sorrow before I become as "numb" as she is?

While working on Plan A, my H as well as my close friend and family called me a "doormat". I admit I felt that way too when I continued to smile through his lies and disrespect.
I am on to Plan B with no end in sight. But I'm glad I tried Plan A because I feel that in my heart I tried to keep us together. If I had reacted the way that most people probably do react with anger and bitterness, I would always wonder "What If"? If my marriage does end in divorce, I will be able to say I did everything I could do to save it.
Give Plan A a chance. You are not losing your pride, you are giving your marriage every chance it deserves.
