Hi - it's coming up on 6 months and my choices are:
 • End it right after school lets out.
 • Go another 3 months.
 • Wait for current affair to end.
Third choice is probably the pure one by MB principles, but it has not made a difference in my case before (see profile below). Second choice was my original thinking and it might have tactical benefits in a divorce proceeding, but it's close to the start of next school year.
I think I'm ready now, but it's hard to take that last step. I would be the one to file. I've done another spate of reading and thinking to see if there is some other thing to do in plan B, but the answer seems to be "no".
What have other people done? Use a time limit, wait for a specific event, or just stick with plan B as long as you can?
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Third choice is probably the pure one by MB principles, but it has not made a difference in my case before (see profile below).
No. There is nothing in MB that says that a person should Plan B forever waiting for the affair to end. The other two choices are actually more suited for MB. Why do I say this? Because it’s totally dependent on where you are. A person will know when they have run out of love. When they are ready to move on. That is when Plan B ends and you file for divorce. Actually since a divorce can take a very long time to finalize, I’m not sure that Plan B ends abruptly upon filing. Letting your spouse know that you are filing for your own sanity but willing to call it off if they are ever ready to work on the marriage works too.
So go with what you feel is right for you. No artificial, imposed timelines. It’s all in your time.

Thanks, Z.
My W participates in a neighborhood yard sale this weekend, and she told me that a "neighbor" gave her a set of miniature medieval figures to sell. Suggested my 10 y.o. tell me the same thing; he really wants them but she won't let him keep them in the house. So it would be up to me. Well, it turns out they came from OM. My son just happened to mention that. It's only $15, but I just can't have OM stuff in my apartment.
I think it's despicable that she tried to enlist my 10 y.o. son in this lie. And the whole back-story is flimsy. Supposedly these things are too small and would damage her vacuum cleaner. Maybe it would be an inside joke for her to get these things into my apartment? Maybe that's paranoid - but it's making my decision easier.
- Tom
