What a new year . . . I work on computers for a living. I've been working very hard to get that damn Y2K bug to work right, but I guess I missed something. . . And my buddy who works for the electric company . . .He promised me he was going to turn the switch off at midnight for 30 seconds. He must have forgot. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
But seriously. At midnight everone in the neighborhood started setting off their fireworks. No Big Deal, The we hear gun shots, about five or six in a row.
My BIL (he and my S live next door) went to go check things out. . .We got outside and heard a 10 round salvo go off. I counted the rounds. Anyway we find the location where the shots are going off, and then watch them fire off six more rounds.
My S was on the phone with the police at the time, and the dispatcher heard the the shots, and said, "yep, that's gunfire". Duh.
That was almost an hour ago. The cops ended up kicking in the door where the gun shots came from, and they are still there.
I got up for work at 4:30 this morning, sorry, yesterday morning, and I still have to stay up so the cops can talk with my BIL and I when they are done.
How's that for Y2K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

terri -- As far as I know, no one was hit by any of the rounds. We are all safe though. Thanks for the concern.
God Bless and Happy New Year

WilliamJ -- They are actually on the next block, so I can't see the cars. But the cops are still there.
God Bless

Do you know these people?
Have they done anything like this before?
Do you think it was Red-Neck fireworks or a gun fight?
B
------------------
BB
WilliamJ -- No we don't know these people. We don't really live in a great neighborhood, but we haven't had much gun fire since we've lived here.
As for you second question. . .Without trying to offend ANYONE. . . This was definitely a case of Wet-Back fireworks. The only problem is that they used a semi automatic weapon and fired at least 30 rounds.
Stupid People plain and simple.
Well, I really need to turn in. I've been up for over 22 hours, and I'm starting to really drag. I'll check back after I get some sleep.
God Bless

Yikes, and I thought the kids in our neighborhood who ran around banging pots and pans were a sight!

Hello ES,
I was just thinking yesterday that I hadn't seen you or hopeful around for awhile. How are things? How is the new job going?
Sounds like you had a pretty crazy New Year's eve.
All the best to you, hopeful, and your family in the coming year.
------------------
Love and Prayers
Nicole

Patient Love -- Thanks for checking up on us. hopeful and I are doing well. She very seldom posts here. She still has problems even really opening up to me, so I really don't expect her to really talk much here either.
The new job has been pretty hectic with training and then the holidays. I work with computers, so you can imagine how things have been. Monday will probably be very busy, as will most of next week. With all of that, I really haven't had a whole lot of time to check in here. Hopefully things will settle down in the next couple weeks though.
Again thanks for checking up on us, and I hope that you and Arik have a very happy 2000.
God Bless

Es,

If she would like you can give hopeful my email address, sometimes posting can be a bit hard when your spouse is reading everything you say.
I'm at patientl0ve@yahoo.com.
I would like to help if I can.
------------------
Love and Prayers
Nicole
