Dear Free,
I saw part of Dr. Rice's testimony, and read some reports and heard some commnetary.
Dr. Rice said that the peak in chatter in July did involve hijacking info, but that they did not feel that the hijacking was specific to the U.S., nor was there any information on the type of hijacking of ramming buildings, which had not really been done before.
There were laws protecting privacy of people in the U.S., that kept the FBI and CIA as separate operations. Dr. Rice was operating with the CIA and FBI before 9-11 and before the Patriot Act, which allows the U.S. more coordination between the CIA and FBI and Immigration and State, on issues relating to terrorism.
Clinton was actively involved in negotiations and dialogue between Irael and the Palestinians, while in office. Bush took the postion that Israel and the Palestinians should settle their differences between themselves, without U.S. help.
Bush does not have an answer for the Palestinian and Israeli conflict, and the Middle East will continue to be in strife as long as that conflict is not resolved. Bush is not even trying to solve the problem. Bush is trying to profit or otherwise find benefit from the conflict. Many Middle Easterners who sympathize with the Palestinian suffering from heavy handed tactics at the hands of the Israelis with U.S. weapons, will continue to hate the U.S. as long as Israel uses assissnation and State Terrorism. The Israei use of excessive force against Palestinians has been exacerbated under Bush.
Dr. Rice gave no hint of understanding why many Muslims hate the U.S. Dr. Rice has no clue of how to mitigate or solve the Israeli-Palestinian issue, which is what led to 9-11.
