I had to share this all because when I heard it I was truly thankful that my H had some decency during his affair.
An old friend just told me of an experience she had last week. About 11:30 PM she discovered that the trash on her neighbors lawn was on fire. She called 911 and went outside with her fire extinguisher. The entire neighborhood rushed out when they heard her scream.
Her next door neighbor is a single mom with older kids. Out of her house comes a man with a fire extinguisher. This man has a wife, 5 kids and is very well known in this town. His oldest is probably 18 years old.
The man was in his underwear on her front lawn fighting the fire. He didn't even have enough brains to put his pants on.
This is not a big city. My friend has to serve on a comittee with this man. She is very straight laced and she did not need to be exposed to this.
I cannot believe what I have heard. I guess I am just thankful that my H didn't portray his drawers to our entire community.
GAG!!!!!!

I wish your friend had sprayed the both of them with a fire extinguisher! Did the press get hold of this? Nice little human interest piece on the local man that saves the single mom's house. Maybe they could do pictures? gag, cough, sputter.......

It's epidemic wassy.. everyday we know of somebody else who is either having an affair or the spouse is. Actually more than epidemic it is very sad... why marry at all?
How about you? How ya feeling?
I'm almost winning the batttle of the sore throat [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]!
Hugs
Kat

Desiree
What do you think the chances really were that they were clean?
lWB
You're right. I never thought about how lucky everyone is that he at least had underwear.
cl
My friend is a little mouse. I would have sprayed him with the fire extinguisher. my poor friend just didn't want to know this or see this.
The thing that really bugs me ONE MORE TIME is the poor kids of both of these people.
My gosh can you imagine going to school and having someone say "Saw your dad in his underwear on so and so's lawn." This is entirely possible considering the neighborhood and situation.
This is truly an example of complete insanity as far as I'm concerned. The whole neighborhood was already taking care of the fire. He could have put his pants on!
Kat
Glad you're feeling better!
I agree with the epidemic thing. Don't think I'll ever get used to it though. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
[This message has been edited by wasstubborn (edited January 05, 2000).]

How awful for the kids, and the spouses of those involved? Though I wonder weather or not this is the whole thing or not, maybe he was sleeping over or something??? [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Ok, I know I am always trying to think the best of people, a really bad habit of mine!
I can honestly say that at least my H didn't let the whole town know, even though my SIL's, BIL, and their spouses all know, my FIL apparently doesn't and neither does my H's grandmother who is extremely attatched to me. But then, they don't really matter do they? The only ones that do sleep in MY bedroom every night, right? [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] God Bless!
------------------
Chick's
Bren
You won't see things until your ready to not be blind!

chick's
You are a sweetheart!
If he was just "sleeping over" he still should have put his pants on. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
It is the kids I feel bad for. This kind of display is not good for them.
If my kids' friends (and this is part of the facts) saw their father in his underwear on a single woman's lawn.... he wouldn't need the hole in the front of that underwear any more!

Uhhhh, chick's? Are you with us? I know you are pregnant and excited....but a sleepover? And he just sort of forgot his jammies? [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Maybe someone should just tell the kids he was driving down that street in the middle of the night in his undies, and viola, a fire! Then he is a hero, instead of the town dog?

Desiree
Glad I made you laugh. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I was going to apologize for being so blunt.
A very wise lady has steered me in a new self help direction. It includes NO MORE BOTTLING UP NEGATIVE EMOTIONS!
I do way too much of that and it seems it's part of the wall I create. so.... If I let these nasty things out, the good emotions can come out too.
This is a warning for all. I have a lot of negative crap that has been festering and I ain't fightin' it anymore so avoid my posts just in case they get too bad! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

cl
I have been studying some things and Boy are they working.
Are you prepared for the volcano about to erupt?
This crap makes me so angry. My friends' kids play sports with this man's kids!!
My oldest son plays sports with this man.
I don't give two hoots what he was doing there. He should have found one living brain cell for the sake of his kids.
I know this story is not far fetched because I had to pry it out of my friend. I could see it was bothering her. She is not a gossip. she only told me because she knows that no one in this town will hear it from me and it has put her in a very uncomfortable situation as well. The effects of this sort of thing are very far reaching aren't they?
[This message has been edited by wasstubborn (edited January 05, 2000).]

wassy,
No need to apologize. We are all stuffing some pretty wild emotions and they stay down so long, when they come up, they are a little bizarre, too! Can't be helped.
Really, this story had me cracking up!! I loved the tile, 'cause I REALLY could "picture this"!
We need these laughs, although, unfortunatley, it is from some unknown person's misery.
Glad that you are able to get some of the negativity out. Can you imagine if you didn't have this place to do that????? Could be a whole lot worse!
Have a good night,
Desiree
------------------
"Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things in which smiles and kindnesses and small obligations, given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort."
Sir Humphry Davy
Desiree
No more stuffing okay? Wanna let it out too?
I am sure that I am certifiably insane somedays and today is one of them.
Yes this place is a blessing.
The title - Sad but that is the first thing that happened to me too. I pictured this man late 40's, on the lawn in the great white north, in his gaunch, in Dec....
And I think I'm insane?
Wouldn't you put clothes on if the fire was being taken care of?

Darn it WS, now that you have made me spray my keyboard and monitor with diet coke, I have to say that I hope no one informs his kids, his wife maybe, she does need to be able to protect herself from any nasty's he may bring home. But not the kids * sigh * Why can't people use the brains God gave them for something besides stuffing to keep thier foreheads from caving in ? *sigh*
See I told ya I was still lurking
------------------
Just call me - Deb
------------------------
The only day I can do anything about is today, yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not yet mine.

ESP again!!!!
Deb
Not three minutes ago I was thinking of you and then I get online and there you are!
I'm with you. I hope like heck this doesn't come back on the kids.
Maybe his wife knows?
No matter what his kids should not be subjected to this. Even if he was divorced and remarried they shouldn't have to hear about their father in public in his underwear! The garbage was on fire. not the house.
Can you tell the kids always come first in my mind?
Biting my tongue now!
Son still doesn't trust his dad, * sigh* .
It stinks on ice !
------------------
Just call me - Deb
------------------------
The only day I can do anything about is today, yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not yet mine.

I'm sincerely shocked that you all think something amiss was going on with that poor man in his underwear.
I'm SURE he...uh, ripped his pants...uh at the grocery store...where he was buying one of those nice little cheap bouquets for his wife...this lady happened to be right there and offered for him to come to her house where she would repair his pants because she's an excellent seamstress!!!!! Yes that's right, that's the story...
Y'all's minds have been skewed by the pain in your lives. THIS GUY was innocent...
Lor
(tongue firmly in cheek)
