I came across this quote that I would like to share:
"If we could read the secret history of those we would like to punish, we would find in each life a sorrow and a suffering enough to disarm all our hostility."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I think the same thing goes for coveting.
Never wish for what someone else has, you don't know what they had to go through to get it.

Actually a profound quote. I'll have to think about that in connection with my W's OM. I don't know if knowing about tragic circumstances on his part would temper my desire for revenge. The problem, of course, is that there's no way for us to know someone else's "secret history." And I don't know if it's enough just to know that they almost certainly do have "sorrow and suffering enough" to disarm our hostolity. Maybe.
Also, while I'm on the subject of "inspirational quotes" (which my W is always throwing at me too), I like the lines from the song "A Little Bit of Luck" in "My Fair Lady":
"They're always throwing goodness at you
But with a little bit of luck a man can duck!"
--Wex
