I'd like to know the answer to that one too! Since that is mostly what I attributed my affair to be caused by. I'll be watching the post for everyone's input...

Brown -- IMHO, an affair can be a result of a mid-life crisis. They are not the same. One can go thru a MLC that doesn't involve love or sex or anything, just a feeling that something has been missed in one's life.
A MLC can be something like someone who works in an office buying a motorcycle, quitting their job and hitting the road. It can involve participating in extreme or dangerous activities, anything that puts distance between one and their former life.
Of course, an affair can result from a MLC for reasons that one feels love, affection, physical gratification, etc., have been missing or never really felt.
It can also be what DuncanMac calls "bad as I wanna be", just a 180 degree change in focus or direction.
I sure hope you can get thru my rambling to understand what I am saying.
--DeWayne--
