Butterfly, In one of your posts I recall seeing where you had just moved into an apartment. How are you doing? I'm having kind of a hard time right now. I've gone from being full-time mom to 18 year old (now gone to college), keeper of 5 bedroom house and 1/2 acre yard, 2 dogs and a husband to cook for to a 2 br apartment with total square footage not much larger than my bedroom in the house...I might get the little dog or something. Never thought I would have so much time on my hands!!!

Janie - I'm not Butterfly, but I saw your post and needed to respond. I just moved to Plan B on Tuesday. H is with a friend. I'm alone in my house and it echos with silence. I just discovered the affair 2 weeks ago, but H has been weird since May. OW came over from England on Wed - they are trying to see if they can make it work. I am still in the shock and denial stage. I try to fill as many of my evenings with some kind of activity or plans (friends, yard work, what ever) so I'm not consumed by the silence. It takes planning and work, but it helps so much.

Hi Janie,
Well, it has been an interesting 2 weeks. I have been keeping myself busy..... the first few days were unpacking & finding a place for everything. Then, I tried being home one night & all I did was cry. Well, I have been "finding" things to do every evening... and most nights not getting home until about 11:30 or later. It's reaking havic on my sleeping patterns, and now I'm sick. Today is the first time I have not left the house. It's ok.... I'm "finding" things to do on the computer, and napping the rest of the time.
Some of the things I have done with all this time I have are.... making new curtains for several windows, and the closet that has no doors. I have assymbled a gas bbq grill by myself. I have gone through boxes that have been packed and stored in a shed for 3+ years & gotten rid of a lot of junk, and 1/2 full boxes... I have become a super organized person.
I was use to spending quite a lot of time alone in the evenings because of H's schedule at work. The "quiet" doesn't bother me. But it is different now... I know that noone is coming home later.
I went to the store the other nigth... I had to leave the checkout line and go wandering back around the store.... I had picked out enough groceries for 2 people... and a lot of it was stuff I really don't care for, but that H really liked. At least I made it to my car before I burst into tears.
However, I have found some things I really enjoy about living alone....
the bed gets made every morning
I can cook whatever I like to eat
Only have to do 2 loads of laundry a week (instead of 6) (no, we don't have kids [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com])
Noone steals my covers
I have control of the REMOTE
I can do what I want, when I want
The only hair in the sink/shower is mine
I don't have to justify the $ I spend on anything
I don't get hangup calls all nigth anymore
Threre is always plenty of hot water when I get in the shower (and noone flushes while I'm in there [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com])
I know some of those things seem trivial... but, I'm trying to find happiness anywhere I can right now.... The more small things I find to be happy about, the easier the bigger things are to deal with.
What have you been doing with all the extra time? Maybe we should start and Idea thread for us, yaknow... with suggestions of things to try.... maybe some new recipies for one.
Thanks for letting me get this out.... I hope things get easier for you.
Butterfly
PS~ another plus to living alone.... no one pees on the back of the toilet [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
------------------
My favorite quote....
"Hello, this is God. I will be handeling your problems today. I will not need your help, so sit back and have a good day."
Butterfly,
I remember when Bozo and I were seperated, one of the best things was, the toilet seat was always down. I hate running in there in the middle of the night , not having time to look and plopping down on a cold ceramic cirle, and if he had splashed YUCKOLA. Talk about NASTY
------------------
Just call me - Deb
------------------------
The only day I can do anything about is today, yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not yet mine.
