My first post. We have been Married 16 Y, 3 girls 8,7,4. I had an Affair 8 years ago. She is having one now. She has left me 5 times with my kids in the last year, my W and OM argue about her having to see me becaus of our kids. She usually comes back after about 2week's to 30 days, and she is ready to work on our marriage. Then a few day's latter she is going through withdraw and tells me she cant help it but she is afraid to totally end it with OM . I do everything I can to make sure she is ready and we are about to get started in recovery with everything I have been reading here for the last year, and I cant get her started. She say's that, she cant forget some things in our past and when we start to get close she panics and has 2nd thoughts. She feel's that all I ever wanted her for in the past was sex and now when we start to get close she panics and all the bad things come back.
I have and she agrees that I full fill a lot of her emotional needs,
(1)Affection,
(2)Admiration 1/2
(3)Domestic support 2/3
(4)Family Commitment
(5)Financial Support
What should be my next step?
How do I get her through withdraw without slipping?
Is withdraw really happening if she has not really totally ended it with OM?
Do we start with PJA, or any thing else until she has really ended affair?
Thanks
gman

Welcome gman, to the Marriage Builders - Infidelity Forum.
I won't give you the normal welcome wagon spiel... you've read alot already...

Many of us need to start immediately working on our marriages and a sound understanding of Plan A and Plan B is crucial! In your situation... definitely start and keep going on as "pure" a Plan A as you can.
Do you have any of the books from the MB Bookstore... of most important for those who have affairs in progress, or soon to be, is "Surviving An Affair" by Dr. Willard Harley. This is the 'bible' for this forum.
Other books can be very useful as well... like "His Needs, Her Needs", "Love Busters", and "Give & Take: The Secret to Marital Compatibility".
There will be many other good books that the MB people will recommend... take their advice... they've been around. There is a post that lists many of these non-Harley book recommendations... Books... books... books... (again).
Most of all... you will find compassion and love here. No judging... no demeaning... no malice here!
The people here have all had their lives thrown into a whirlwind of despair, confusion, and sadness.
We've all experience gut wrenching emotions that we though could never exist, in anyone's idea of humanity.
Feelings of hatred, love, disillusionment, envy, rejection, emptiness, deep depression, and on and on...
Just the books and facts aren't going to get you through it all... not without support. That's where we come in! We care... because we know how it feels. Believe it... You are not alone! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Come to this forum to vent... to cry... to laugh (a little)... to express your feelings... to advise others... or just to get away!
You're probably going through H*!! right now... don't go it alone... remember... you are not alone! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
There is never any guarantee to save all marriages... life doesn't work that way, unfortunately.
We can, and do guarantee, to give you help... to build back many vital aspects of your life and sanity. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Post... Post... Post... Reply... Reply... Reply... READ! READ! READ!
I've been speaking in behalf of some dear friends... as well as some complete strangers too..., when I've used "we"!
But... if you're here... join in with them... they will join in with you. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] We do not always agree with each other on how to handle situations... but each of us is offering to you advice base on individual experiences. Search out those people on the forum that have experiences similar to yours... and ask... ask... ask! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
In your situation...I would recommend that you have 2 telephone counseling sessions ($85US a pop... but well worth it) with Steven W. Harley. Check out the Counseling Center... and for some specifics... Fees for Counseling Services and Scheduling an Appointment! It has helped many of us... even those who have been on the forum for months.
Best wishes...
Post frequently!
Jim
---------------------------------
Where two or more are gathered...
