At 4:30 this morning, when I went to tell my husband to come to bed (he's leaving on a business trip later this morning), I noticed on his computer that he was backing up a file or files to a different folder or location (papers flying out of a folder to somewhere. I am pretty sure he was moving the more than 500 e-mail messages that were in his e-mail inbox to the OW. We use Mindspring internet software and netcom as our internet provider. I need to access these e-mails (perfect time--I am off today). I am not sure whether the new location is an e-mail folder or something else. He is pretty sophisticated with the computer, I am not. Any help you can give me on how to access the information would be wonderful. I will need step-by-step directions. Also, if I encounter a password, can I bypass it or deal with it in another way.

Hi Emp,
I will be the first to admit that I'm no expert by any means. Know just enough to be dangerous. But, here is what I would do:
Start->Programs->Windows Explorer(I have windows 95)
Once you've opened Explorer, click on Tools, then Find, then Files & Folders. Click on Date Modified tab, then Find all Files... button, then Between button, and put in a date range (yesterday & today).
This will show you the files that were created today.
Hope this helps.
BTW, I read your profile, and I'm in a similar type situation. H is/was retired, & I work fulltime. Seems those situations are a breeding grounds for temptation. Not only that, but a lot of men end up feeling emasculated, then the trouble begins.

Sidney--thanks for your suggestion. This morning after I posted I had some time to look at the computer. It seems the backup program got stuck and I was able to tell it is a zip file. I have time this morning and will try some things but if I am successful in unzipping a file, I'm not sure if I know how to zip it up again. By the way my H is retired.
