I don't follow country so....I didn't know much about all the commotion regarding Garth and Trisha....did I remember this right??
Anyway...just a sensitivity check here !!
Last night...when Garth received his first award, he leaned over and kissed Sandy his wife...he then went onstage and gave thanks...blah, blah, but he said a really nice thank-you to Sandy, the wife who helped in achieve success on the road...Very nice !
Then, he wins another award for his success covering the 1990's and says..."Sandy, we don't really know our future but I .....thank you for helping me achieve what I have over the past 10 years".
Is this weird? or am I way too sensitive ?
Even my husband said it was weird...
Tina

If you don't know Garths story you wouldn't understand what he was saying. Sandy and Garth have had their share of problems. He was unfaithful to her early on in their marrriage. They have moved beyond that but his lifestyle of not being around and on the road makes temptation all the more real.
I think a lot of what he said also comes from the fact the he is seriously thinking of retiring again.
Also with his mothers passing it really makes you think about life in general. None of us really knows how long we have on this earth.
Hope that helps a little! Just some thoughts from a long time follower of Garth.

FA
Perhaps you are right....the second "thanks" seemed so weird given the first one. (and what appeared to be some genuine hugging at each win)
I hope you are right....it's always a pleasure to see a solid marriage. One that can weather the inevitable storms yet move on and up.
-Tina

On a related note (sort of), I heard that Marie Osmond is separated - there was just recently an article in the Sunday magazine about her. And Lorrie Morgan is divorcing her 5th H.

Nellie,
I really do get confused....just as you said...I, too, read about Marie O and was really surprised. Last week, the Parade section of the paper referenced her "solid marriage". Just the same...I feel bad for her...she spoke very concisely about how the first break-up really destroyed her. We all know that feeling.
and how are you ? I've read a few posts about your hubby and you definetely should get some awards of your own ! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
-Tina

TFloyd & Nellie1,
I also heard about the Marie O. split between her and her husband. From what I heard she walked out on him and their 7 kids a few months back due to a deep depression. I don't know whether it stems from her last child being born or what, but it seemed to hit her right after that.
About the Garth thing: His moms death really took its toll on him. He was extremely close to his mom.
He really loves Sandy from what he has said and he wants to spend a lot more time with her and his 3 beautiful little girls. He knows he messed up back then and credits Sandy for being such a strong woman as to why they made it through those rough times.
I was watching the view a while back and he was on there and said he was taking time off to spend with his family because he had a marriage that needed work...
it is good to see a man admit that there is a problem instead of keeping quite and then walking out with no warning....
i hope they make it...
Amanda
------------------
I will love my husband "Always & Forever"
thevancefamily@hotmail.com

If you guys havent heard the dirt... here it is:
Sounds like Trisha is splitting from her man. Her man says that the friendship of Garth to Trisha influenced it as well. Everything has been said indirectly concerning Garth. Me being a Garth fan, I hope he doesn't do anything stupid again.
i am not inferring anything, but would be ashamed if something did happen.
J
