My husband and I have been married for 5 yrs. He is 10 yrs. older than myself. We have always been extremely close and always considered one another as a best friend. Last year I was very ill. I went through 4 surgeries, the last being major. During the last year, we became distant. I can look back now and realize how depressed I had become. We always did everything together with the exception of last year. I felt guilty for being sick so I let him do many things alone while I stayed home with our daughter. Deep down inside, I resented this but never told him about it. I felt like all of my life had been taken from me, I had no life. We found out 3 months ago that we are expecting again. This came as quite a shock because we didn't think we were able to have anymore children. Anyway, last week, he informed me that he wasn't happy any longer. You can imagine how I felt, espeically being pregnant. I love this man. During this week, he made a lot of strange comments that really hurt me. I went through a terrible week. Lost a lot of weight and was just very depressed. Finally I picked myself up and decieded that maybe we should just split up. When I told him this in a round about way, he told me that We WOULD make it work. Thats what I wanted to hear. We are talking about the situation every night, but it seems that sometimes my emotions (from being pregnant) go into overtime, so it makes it hard. Is it possible to lose your feeling of love for someone and regain it by working at it? How often does this happen? I am a strong person and I know that I could get through this break-up but I don't want to except that. I love this man and want to spend the rest of my life with him and my children. Another question --- At what age range does a man go through mid life crisis? How does this affect a marriage? How does the man feel? He just bought a Harley and I can't help to feel like he may be going through this right now. Anyone have any thoughts for me?
