I will make this as brief as possible.
I have a fiance who is still in the process of getting his divorce. The paperwork is the hard thing since he is in the army and not in the states. We have been engaged for a year and half, and they have been apart for over 3 years.
He and I both have children from our marriages, (I have been divorced for years now), and all of our children get along great! Infact, when we are all together we have such a great time. I love his children and he loves mine. And they love each of us.
Ok, here is the heart of the matter. He is coming home for a visit before going to his next duty station. The last time we saw him was in July and the time before that was in January. Including the day he gets here and the day he leaves again he will be home for 6 days. The only way his wife will let him see his kids is if he stays at her house. She will not let their children stay with us anymore. I have offered other alternatives, including us renting a motel room for two days so we could all be together. But he balks at my suggestions and is sticking with her plan to stay there two nights.
I will even be driving the four hours to take him there, and driving back alone. I do not want to do this, but see no other way to help him and still be "ok" with it.
Any suggestions would be most welcome. Am I too insecure? Am I too controlling by not wanting him to go there? Should I let it bother me so much? Is it "normal" for me to be bothered by this? Please help...for this is breaking my heart and I don't think it should.
