I've been married for nearly 13 years, but could never really say "happily married". About 6 years ago, my husband had an affair that lasted 1 1/2 years. He refused to go to counseling with me, so I've gone on my own. With much anger, but a heart full of love, I've managed to get through these 6 years, only to constantly find some incriminating evidence that points to perhaps another woman in his life. Just recently I found a very explicit polaroid of a naked woman in what once his car. He denies even knowing where that picture came from explaining that perhaps someone put it in there to hurt him. As much as I've tried to see his side of the issue, I don't buy it. When I reapproached the issue this week, he clammed down and all that he said was that he didn't do anything and that he didn't want to talk about it. I believe I've tried everything there is to make this work. I'm so weary of constantly trying, but the problem is, I actually am in love with him. Yesterday we had another round at this, and he wouldn't speak nor wouldn't listen to me. I asked him if he cared about the relationship and he shrugged his shoulders. Then I told him if he apparently didn't care, why was he holding on to this relationship, and he very smartly answered that it was him that was holding on, it was me! Oh, how angry and hurt I am. How dare he after all the incredible effort I've put into this. Finally, out of such anger and desperation I asked him to leave the house and he said he would - just like that. I stormed out of the house just to cool down, and when I came back he was sleeping in my bed. I continually demanded that he get out, and go to another room, which he eventually did when he saw I wasn't backing down. What should I do? My heart tells me I love him, but my mind tells me to let go.
