I married my best friend 8 years ago today. He is much older than me, and we have had a great marriage until conflict came in a few years ago. Today he finally opened his anniversary card I gave him, after I kept asking him if he wanted to read it. (It took an hour). Then, I asked him if he wanted something special for dinner tonight, and he said no--we will order pizza. Then my daughter came home from school (teen) and he asked her where she wanted to go to dinner tonight, because it was his anniversary. I am confused...is this conflict....I don't understand. I cried, got over that part, now I need answers. Is this normal, am I being oversensitive. I love him, I know he loves me.....your comments would help. Thank you.

Sounds more like withdrawal than conflict (Go back and re-read the Basic Concepts). In essence, sounds like he has withdrawn emotionally from the relationship. To lead him back to the state of Intimacy, you need to first eliminate all lovebusters, and then meet the emotional needs he is willing to let you meet (if he is withdrawn, he may not want you to meet some at first).
Good luck
