My husband of 17 years is very emotional about money issues. Two years ago I had to borrow money from a finance company,$4000, and get a credit card to pay bills because we were behind. I didn't tell him because I knew he would blame me for the money shortage.I was partly to blame but so is he. He found out about the credit card, he blamed only me,made harsh judgments about me and went crazy. He contemplated divorce. After reading the doctors basic concepts, I believe we are in the withdrawl state, we have argued so much and have alot of hurt and mistrust. I want to make us fall in love again, I want this marriage to work. But how can I be completely honest about the finance bill when I know it will probably stop any chances of our marriage surviving? I don't know what to do about it.

Hmm well sounds like a classic case of a man's home is his castle kind of syndrome. Since you had to step i to take care of the problems, he losses his sence of purpose. Kind of like and identity chrisis. ok do you work at all? And if you do what happens to your funds. Do you two have a combined income or work it out seperately. Get back to me nd i'll try to help ya. Lol BTW i'm a Hubby of 3 yrs so maybe i can shed ya a guys point of view.

In answer to your question, I have a part time bookkeeping job,it pays $220 per month. Our funds are combined in one account to pay everything.I am a non-traditional student in my sophmore year at a 4year college and will be working upon graduation.I've been a home raising kids for the last 11 years and have had several part time jobs throughout that time. What you said makes sense, but I don't know how I threaten him or how not to.
