My husband of one year and I have arrived at something new in our relationship. All of a sudden he desires to go on a trip to Las Vegas and the situation does not allow for me to go also. Therefore he will be gone for 7 days and will be at a wonderful event w/ lots of girls/gals and drinking. My problem - this is not the type of atmosphere that you should put yourself in w/ out the spouse there by you. He disagrees and say I should trust him. I am very unhappy and he is very determined. He will attend again in December. What do I do?
Any advise? <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" />

It sounds like you need a Policy of Joint Agreement. You might want to print out some of the concepts on Marriage Builders and discuss them with your husband. Perhaps you can compromise. Is there any way you can go with him? Is he willing to wait until you are able to go with him? Could you plan something within a year and would he be willing to wait?

Could you explain a little more about your situation? What is he going for (a convention, bacherlor party, wedding, etc.), who is he going with, how do you feel about the occasion and the people (i.e. if he was going somewhere in town for the same occassion with the same people would you be comfortable) and why is he going again in December?

I just want to ask you something. Do you trust him? I think if you did, you wouldn't have a problem with him going. Real question is, why DON'T you trust him? Has he given you prior reason not to?

Chances are, you're not going to be able to stop him, no matter how much you try and beg. And heaven forbid you show you're pissed about it. That only convinces him to go. My husband has no qualms about leaving me and going out, and has absolutely no respect for my feelings. I've begged him not to go out sometimes, and he goes anyway. He's gonna do what he wants in the end. How old is your husband?

Definitely a need for compromise. You guys are newly-weds. Don't want to start off on the wrong foot on this.
