We've been married 11 years, in our early 40's, no kids. H had a PA last year lasting 6 months. I talked with OW and found out how she would be in my bed while I was away from the house. H broke off the affair when he said God rebuked him. However, he did say that if I didn't stay with him, he would have stayed with OW. Slowly though the year he has been getting better at things. There were a couple of other times prior to last year when I felt he had gotten too close to other women.

I don't know if I did the right thing to stay with him. There are things in the marriage that we can't seem to resolve. Last month, I told him that I wanted to go see a marriage counselor again, but he doesn't want to. Soon after he admitted to the A, he stopped seeing the marriage counselor and suggested that I see a counselor myself to help my grief. There are things that he wants me to do in bed that I don't want to do. He is heavily in debt and will not disclose his financial situtation to me. He says he is working at paying things off, but history and my observations lead me to believe that he is getting in deeper and deeper. Both of these items have been a problem (for me) during our entire marriage.

I look for the fruit of the Spirit in him.... While there is more then last year, I'm not sure that he's really dedicated his life to Christ or me.

I feel like I am not getting any respect in the marriage and am wondering if the cycle will just repeat itself....

How do I move forward in a positive way?

Welcome to MB, Lady_g. I really have no advice for you. But, I wanted to let you know that this forum gets very little traffic. Please repost in one of the infidelity forums (Maybe GQII). There are lots of wonderful people there who will likely respond rather quickly.
Best wishes,
Smile
