I am kind of embarrassed to talk about this because my husband and I are in our early 50's and have been married for 32 years. There has been problems off and on over the years concerning other women that would take too long to go into. He denies ever having had sex with anyone else but there have been many questionable incidences over the years that looked very suspicious, and there was a couple of times where he said he had thought he was in love with someone else and had "kissed her but nothing else happened". Another time a woman admitted they had had an affair but he denied it. All of this and other similar incidences has destroyed my trust in him, but we somehow stayed together, and actually get along pretty good these days. The problem now is that he has a friend that sends him porn, info about dating services, and other sexually related things over the email. I got mad and emailed this guy telling him that I didn't appreciate all this and that I want to have a Christian marriage.
He ridicules my husband now, saying that HIS wife doesn't bother the computer at his house and that he does what he wants to do, and that my husband is just henpecked. This has caused such a conflict between us that I am thinking about leaving, because I am tired of being hurt by this sort of things after all these years. I have always felt like he put his friends above me on his priority list, even before we were married. Once he broke our engagement years ago, because I got mad at a friend he had that
was getting his help to see another woman behind his wife's back. I later found out that he and this friend, and another male friend were renting a cabin on a lake, and the other two guys had been taking women there. He claimed he had been just going there to have a place to "hang around". I could go on and on. I once decided to write down all the things over the years that he had done to make me mistrust him and ended up with 11 pages. Sorry to ramble on...the main thing now is this friend (he is in his 50's and has been married as long as we have). My husband insists on maintaining this friendship with the one who is sending all this trash to him via email. He lives in the same town with us and my husband goes out to eat with him once a week, every week. Please tell me if I am being unreasonable.

Hi Ann...I hope you are still around. I'm sorry no one responded to you sooner. This particular forum gets very little traffic.
I have not been in a situation like your's, but I know that many people in these forums have. Please repost your message in the Emotional Needs forum.

You are trying to protect your marriage...I see nothing unreasonable about that. However, if you read through the basic concepts, you might start to discover things you are doing that are making it more difficult to achieve your goals (i.e. Lovebusters).

I hope to hear from you, again. I wish someone had seen your post sooner!

Take care,
Smile
